Fig. 1 zeigt einen neuheitsgemäßen Verkaufsständer 1. Er besitzt ein Gestell 2, das auf vier Füßen 3 ruht. Das Gestell 2 trägt eine beispielsweise aus einer Gitterkonstruktion gebildete oder als Lattenrost gestaltete Ablagefläche 5. Die Rastkontur 20 ist im Beispiel nach allen Seiten umschlossen. Denkbar ist jedoch auch eine Rastkontur 20, die sich nach unten öffnet, also nur nach drei Seiten umschlossen ist. Die Führungsabschnitte 15 besitzen je einen schrägen Abschnitt 16. Im oberen Bereich 13' eines jeden Raststabes ist in einem seitlichen Abstand zu den fluchtend angeordneten Stützflächen 12 wenigstens eine nach oben sich erstreckende Rastvertiefung 17, 17' angeordnet. Sollte nun jemand aus Unachtsamkeit die Abstellfläche 5 loslassen, und sollten die Stützstäbe 22 aufgrund der sich einstellenden unkontrollierten Bewegung der Raststäbe 11 nicht in einer der Stützflächen 12 einrasten, so erfolgt das gewünschte Einrasten zumindest an der in der Zeichnung untersten Rastverbindung 17', spätestens jedoch an der oberen der beiden Rastvertiefungen 17. Die Ablagefläche 5 kann also nicht so weit abstürzen, bis sie plan auf dem Gestell 2 aufliegt. Vielmehr erfolgt eine zwangsgeführte Arretierung der Stützstäbe 22 in einer der beiden Rastvertiefungen 17, 17' der Raststäbe 11. Aus der Zeichnung ist ersichtlich, daß benachbarte Stützflächen 12 jeweils durch einen ersten senkrechten Abschnitt 18, an den sich der schräge Abschnitt 16 anschließt, der wiederum in einen weiteren zweiten senkrechten Abschnitt 19 mündet, miteinander verbunden sind, wobei der erste senkrechte Abschnitt 18 zum zweiten senkrechten Abschnitt 19 in einem horizontalen Abstand, also seitenversetzt angeordnet ist.
