Used oil drain valve for motor vehicles

The invention relates to a used oil drain valve for motor vehicles.

In the oil drain systems used to date in motor vehicles, an oil drain screw is located at the bottom of the oil pan, which, if used oil is to be removed from the pan, is simply unscrewed so that the used oil escaping from the pan can drain into a container located or placed underneath.

However, such a known device has the disadvantage that when the screw is opened, used oil immediately escapes, which also wets the tool with oil, whereby the oil can also contaminate the clothing and hands of the operator.

If a suitable collecting base is not placed under the drain floor in good time, the disadvantage is that the used oil can seep into the ground and cause environmental contamination.

The invention is based on the object of creating a device with which contamination of the tool and the hands and clothing of the operator is excluded, while also preventing used oil from entering the soil or groundwater.

The object is solved by the characterizing features of claim 1, with further embodiments being solved by claims 2 to 5.

According to the invention, there is the advantage that contamination of tools and of the operator's hands and clothing is excluded and that it can also be prevented that the waste oil to be drained and collected can inadvertently enter the soil or groundwater.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.

Fig. 1 shows the used oil drain valve inserted or screwed into an opening in the oil pan in longitudinal section;

Fig. 2 is a section along the line II - II in Figure 1;

Fig. 3 the used oil drain hose in longitudinal section;

Fig. 5 shows the used oil drain hose attached to a used oil collection container and whose free end can be connected to the used oil drain valve.

The used oil drain valve 1 consists of a substantially cylindrical valve housing 4 attached to the bottom 2 of the oil pan 3 of the motor vehicle with a valve ball 7 pressed by a compression spring 5 onto a discharge channel 6 that narrows downwards in a funnel shape.

The oil drain hose 8 shown in Figure 3 is connected at its free end to a connecting part 9, which by means of an internal thread 10 can be brought into engagement with the external thread 11 of the housing 4 of the waste oil drain valve 1, whereby when this connecting part 9 is screwed in, three tappets 12 enter the outlet channel 6 and the valve ball

7 against the spring pressure of the spring 5 so that a connection between the oil pan 3 and the used oil drain hose

8 is created so that the used oil can flow from the oil pan 3 into the closed used oil collection container 13 via the used oil drain hose 8 without the hands or clothing of the operating personnel or tools in the hands of the operating personnel being contaminated with used oil, whereby the used oil can be fed directly into the used oil collection container 13 via the used oil drain hose 8 without there being a risk of used oil leaking out and getting into the ground or groundwater, particularly since with the new type of oil change, an oil drain screw no longer has to be removed in order to introduce the used oil into the closed used oil collection container 13 via the used oil drain hose. The new type of used oil drain valve 1 can be installed as standard in commercial vehicles, so that in order to ensure an environmentally friendly oil change,

only the new type of connecting part 9 of the used oil drain hose 8 together with the tappet 12 has to be screwed onto the external thread 11 of the valve housing 4 in order to create a direct connection between the oil pan 3 and the used oil collection container 13. The collected used oil cannot escape from the collection container 13 because a check valve 14 is arranged at the mouth of the used oil drain hose 8, so that even if the used oil collection container 13 is tipped over, the collected oil cannot leak out again. A shut-off valve 16 is provided in the used oil drain hose 8 for safety reasons. The collection container 13 can be designed in such a way that it can only be opened by personnel authorized to dispose of the oil. Such a used oil drain device, which can also be used by laymen, ensures that improper spilling of collected used oil is not possible. The used oil drain hose 8 ±s± is connected to the used oil collection container 13 by means of a screw nut 15.

Waste oil drain valve for motor vehicles, characterized in that the used oil drain valve (1) consists of a valve housing (4) attached to the bottom (2) of the oil pan (3) of the motor vehicle with a valve ball (7) pressed by a compression spring (5) onto a discharge channel (6) that narrows downwards in a funnel shape, and a tappet (12) attached to the used oil drain hose (8), which opens the discharge channel (6) and acts as a drain trigger. 2. Waste oil drain valve according to claim 1, characterized in that the waste oil drain hose (8) is provided at its end facing the oil pan (3) with an internal thread (10) which threadably engages in the external thread (11) of the waste oil drain valve (1). 3. Waste oil drain valve according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the waste oil drain hose (8) is provided with a shut-off valve (16). 4. Waste oil drain valve according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the end of the waste oil drain hose (8) facing away from the oil pan (3) is connected to a waste oil collection container (13) closed by a non-return valve (14). 5. Waste oil drain valve according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the outlet channel (6) of the used oil valve housing (4) can be covered by a threaded cover cap.
