Counter construction

The invention relates to a counter structure, in particular in polygonal form.

Counter structures are required for numerous occasions, e.g. at trade fairs, sales shows and entertainment events of all kinds. There is therefore a need to be able to use such counter structures in different locations. A counter structure of the type in question here should therefore be transportable and quick to set up with as little weight and space as possible.

Conventional counter structures do not meet these requirements optimally. It is known to use voluminous wooden supports for pavilion-like counter structures, onto which connecting elements, usually also made of wood, can be hung. These counter structures require a long assembly time and have a relatively high weight. If a polygonal pavilion-like structure is provided with a roof, a relatively voluminous roof section must be transported. In addition, the durability of surface layers of known counter structures is low, so that the counters quickly become unsightly after a relatively short period of use and several transports.

The counter structure according to the invention is particularly easy to construct, transport with a small volume and quickly set up by using metal supports, which essentially consist of a cylindrical tube profile, optionally provided with feet, and body elements made of folded metal sheet, onto which only a plate is placed. The connection between body elements and supports can be made by simple screw connections.

The counter structure according to the invention is particularly suitable for closed basic shapes, in which case at least one body element is expediently designed as a door, with a support serving as a stop for the door. In this case, polygonal basic shapes can be realized that correspond to an approximate circle. However, it is also conceivable to realize other floor plans, such as the shape of a figure eight, cloverleaf arrangements or the like.

The fastening of the panels to the body elements is simple if the body element, in a preferred embodiment, has horizontally inwardly angled edges on its upper side to which the panels are fastened.

For reasons of stability, but also for reasons of functionality, it is advisable if the body element also has horizontally angled edges at its lower end.

For a preferred closed arrangement, which can be octagonal in particular, it is expedient if the body elements have essentially a flat outer side and, in a symmetrical arrangement, two bevelled transition sides and two inward-facing side walls. These body elements are easy to manufacture and, with a closed, circular arrangement of the counter structure, create an aesthetically sophisticated and easily designed view.

The panels placed on the body elements and connected to them can lie against each other over their entire depth and thus form a ring-shaped panel arrangement without noticeable gaps, with the supports integrated into the panel arrangement.

The counter structure according to the invention can be realized with supports whose length corresponds to the usual counter height. The counter structure is therefore possible without a roof structure, but allows an advantageous roof structure in that extension parts of the supports connected to the supports support the roof structure.

The counter structure according to the invention can thus be easily supplemented with a roof structure. The roof structure is preferably formed with U-shaped profiles that are open at the top, which converge towards one another in a star shape and are connected to one another at their free ends via a connecting piece. In this way, a pavilion-like counter structure can be realized.

The inherently problematic assembly of the roof structure can be made much easier in a very practical embodiment by the roof segments made of folded sheet metal filling the space between two U-shaped profiles and engaging in the U-shaped profiles with downwardly angled edges. This solves all other problems of sealing the roof and water drainage in a simple way. Assembly is particularly easy if the roof segment can be hooked into the adjacent U-shaped segments using an L-shaped slot that is open on one side, with a bolt connected to the other part being inserted into the slot. The L-shaped slots can be conveniently formed on the downwardly angled edges of the roof segments and their open ends can essentially point downwards and their closed ends essentially point towards the top of the roof. In this way, the roof segments can be hooked into the U-shaped profiles like a bayonet lock.

The U-shaped profiles can be easily attached to the extension parts if the free front surfaces of the extension parts are bevelled and have a threaded bushing into which a fastening screw for the corresponding U-shaped profile placed on the bevelled front surface can be screwed. In this way, the U-shaped profiles that support the roof segments are given the desired roof pitch that ensures water drainage.

It has been shown in practice that an octagonal pavilion with a roof structure with a base diameter of approx. 2m can be erected by two people in approx. 1.5 hours. When the counter structure according to the invention is implemented with aluminum tubes as supports and aluminum sheets for the body elements and the roof segments, the entire pavilion weighs approx. 250 kg and can be

a transport volume of approx. 4.5 m ³ in a small van.

The body elements, which are preferably cassette-shaped, can in individual cases be closed off on the inside with a door, so that they can be used as cupboards, but also to accommodate electrical devices, e.g. refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.

Figure 1 shows a counter structure consisting of supports 1, body elements 2 and plates 3 placed on the body elements 2 and forming an octagonal floor plan. The plates 3 are connected to one another over their entire depth and therefore form a ring-shaped counter plate surface. Recesses 4 formed between the plates are filled by horizontal end plates 5 of the supports 1. The supports 1 are each provided with a foot at their lower ends.

The body elements 2 are bent in a cassette shape around vertical edges 7 and their shape is explained in more detail below.

The counter structure shown in Figure 1 is complete if no roof is to be provided, i.e. if the counter structure is used, for example, within a larger hall.

The counter structure according to Figure 1 can be extended unchanged with a roof structure as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

Figure 2 shows eight vertical extension parts 8 for the supports 1, which can be inserted into the supports 1, which are then open at the top, after removing the horizontal end plate 5 with pins 9. The extension parts 8 are connected and stabilized at their upper ends by crossbars 10. Each

Extension part 8 carries a U-shaped profile 11 that runs diagonally upwards. The free ends of the U-shaped profiles 11, which converge in a radial manner, are connected and stabilized by a cap 12. 5

Figure 2 shows that the U-shaped profiles 11 protrude with their outer ends beyond the crossbars 10 and thus provide a roof overhang.

The scaffolding structure shown in Figure 2 is completed to form a roof structure by roof segments 13 shown in Figure 3. The roof segments 13 are made of aluminum sheet and consist of a flat roof surface 14 that fills the gaps between the U-shaped profiles 11. Laterally angled edges 15 (Figure 7) engage in the U-shaped profiles. The roof segments 13 are closed off on the outside by panels 16 that are bent downwards.

In the closed arrangement of the body elements 2 shown in Figures 1 to 3, it is expedient if at least one of the body elements 2 is designed as a door.

Figure 4 shows a horizontal section through a body element 2', which is practically indistinguishable from other body elements 2, but is used as a door.

The body element 2', like the other body elements 2, is provided with a flat outer side 17, from which two bevelled transition sides 18, in a symmetrical arrangement, create the transition to two inward-facing side walls 19 which are essentially perpendicular to the outer side 17.

Figure 4 shows that the body elements 2, 2' have horizontally angled edges 20 on the bottom side - as well as on the top side (not shown). In the case of the

Figure 4 shows two supports 1 which have threaded bushings 22, with the aid of which the body elements 2 can be screwed onto the support 1. In the case of the body element 2', a hinge band 23 is screwed into the threaded bushing 22 in question, the movable band part of which is connected to a frame inserted into this body element 2' . The hinge band 23 is connected using countersunk screws 25.

On the other side of the frame 24, a lock can be provided which cooperates with a corresponding lock arrangement 26 of the support 1 for locking the door 2' in the closed state.

Figure 5 shows in detail the connection of an extension part 8 with two crossbars 10. The crossbars are designed as U-profiles, the front of which is extended by one-piece projections 27. The projections 27 lie tangentially on the associated extension part 8, which has corresponding radially arranged threaded bushings 28, which allow the crossbars 10 to be screwed onto the extension part 8.

Figure 6 illustrates the fastening of the U-shaped profiles to an extension part 8. To ensure the desired roof pitch, each extension part 8 has an upper face 29 which is arranged at an angle according to the desired roof pitch and has a welded threaded bushing 30 which is suitable for screwing the U-shaped profile 11 to the extension part 8. The threaded bushing 30 is aligned perpendicular to the surface of the inclined face 29.

To ensure that the roof segments 13 can be easily attached to the U-shaped profiles 11, the downwardly angled side edges 15 are provided with L-shaped slots 31, which are open at the bottom on the one hand and closed at the free end 32 of the roof segments on the other. This makes it possible to hang the roof segments 13 in the U-shaped profiles 11, as shown in Figures 8 and 9. As can be seen from these figures, the respective U-shaped profile 11 is provided with a bolt 33 screwed through. The roof segment can now be inserted into the upwardly open U-shaped profiles 11 in such a way that the bolts enter from below into the downwardly open ends of the L-shaped slots 31. By pulling the roof segments 13 radially outwards or already due to the weight of the roof segments 13, they slide outwards, whereby the bolt 33 runs against the closed end of the L-shaped slot 31 and secures the roof segment against lifting upwards.

Figure 10 shows a detailed view of the arrangement of the cap 12 and a connecting piece 34, which engages with radial projections 35 under the free ends of the U-shaped profiles 11 and is screwed to them there.

As can be seen in particular in Figure 11, the cap is screwed to the connecting piece 34 via a screw 36, secured by nuts 37, 38. The connecting piece 34 carries an upper plate 39, which in turn serves to hold a pipe section 40. The pipe section 40 serves as an upper stop for the U-shaped profiles 11 and prevents them from tilting upwards at the radially inner end. The cap lies with a ring inserted into a groove that is open at the bottom.
