Measuring case with measuring device for measuring under difficult environmental conditions

The subject of the present innovation is a measuring case according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such measuring cases are used when you want to use the measuring devices contained therein to measure under difficult environmental conditions, such as when you want to take measurements outdoors where there is a risk of strong environmental stress such as humidity, water, high temperatures, etc. Such measuring cases therefore have to meet high requirements in terms of impact resistance, tightness, water resistance, etc.

The problem with such measuring cases is that you have to carry along measuring sensors in addition to the measuring device in order to connect the measuring sensors to the measuring device at the measurement location and then carry out the measurement.

So far, it is only known to carry the transducers separately from the measuring case, which has the disadvantage that the transducers are exposed to the difficult environmental conditions mentioned above with relatively little protection. It is also known to carry the transducers in a separate case, which in turn has the disadvantage that this causes transport problems due to the transport of several different measuring cases.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of developing a measuring case for a measuring device with the associated transducers so that the measuring device can be used in difficult environmental conditions and the transducers can be stored safely in the measuring case when the measuring device is not in use.

To solve the problem posed, the innovation is characterized by the technical teaching of claim 1.

The main feature of the innovation is that the measuring device itself is now housed in the measuring case, but at the same time there is also an upper compartment in the measuring case in which the measuring sensors are housed, which compartment is closed by an upper cover of the housing, whereby this cover can be connected to the rest of the housing in a sealing manner.

The technical teaching provided thus achieves the essential advantage that the measuring device itself is now housed in the measuring case, with the front panel of the measuring device being brought out on a front face of the measuring case in order to make the corresponding connections, control elements and display elements easily accessible. It is also essential that a lid is now present in the case-like housing, which is preferably arranged on the housing so that it can be pivoted about a rear, horizontal axis, and when this lid is opened, an internal storage compartment in the measuring case becomes accessible, in which the measuring sensors and possibly other devices to be protected against environmental influences are arranged, in particular a printer.

Placing a printer in the protected part of the measuring case is important because it is difficult to protect such printers against environmental influences if, for example, a printer is provided on the front panel of the measuring device. Therefore, according to the invention, it is essential that the printer is housed in the protected measuring compartment of the measuring case.

Another essential feature of the present invention is that the measuring case is divided into two sections, namely the above-mentioned storage compartment, which

can be sealed with a lid and into a compartment underneath in which the entire electrical circuit of the measuring device is housed. This has the advantage that the electrical circuit is arranged on a carrier plate which can be housed in a protected compartment of its own which is closed on all sides.

Preferably, there are two housing compartments, namely a lower housing compartment that is closed on all sides and is surrounded by the surrounding walls of the entire housing and is limited at the front by the front panel, and an upper housing compartment that is sealed from above by a corresponding cover.

The lower housing compartment can preferably only be opened by arranging the front panel in the area of a front frame and connecting this front frame to the rear wall of the housing via associated fastening rails. If you now loosen the fastening rails in their fastening to the rear wall of the housing, you can pull the entire front frame with the front panel attached to it out to the front and the lower housing compartment in which the electrical circuit is arranged becomes accessible. In this case, it is preferred if the electrical circuit is arranged on a carrier plate, which carrier plate is attached to the rear of the front frame and thus also to the rear of the front panel.

In this way, when the front frame is pulled forward, the entire circuitry arranged on the carrier plate can be pulled out to the front and is easily accessible for repair and service purposes.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using drawings showing several implementation options. The drawings and their descriptions reveal further key features and advantages of the innovation.

The Me/3case according to the innovation consists essentially of a housing 1, which is preferably made of a plastic or metal material. The housing 1 has a front panel 3, in the area of which a number of operating and display elements are arranged. The top of the front panel is bordered by a carrying handle 4, which can be folded forwards so that the housing can be easily

is portable.

In the area of the front panel 3, several plugs 6 are arranged for the power supply and for connecting external cables. Furthermore, a digital display panel and a display element 9 arranged next to it are provided. Values can be entered using a keyboard 8.

Further connectors 5 are provided on the front panel 3, to which the measuring lines corresponding to the measuring sensors 19 (see Figure 2) can be connected.

It is important that the top of the housing 1 is designed as a cover 2, which is designed to be pivotable about a horizontal pivot axis 11, which horizontal pivot axis 11 is formed in the region of the rear wall of the housing 1.

The cover 2 can be locked to the housing 1 using lateral locks 10. It has sealing lips on its underside (not shown in detail) which ensure that the cover is held in a sealed manner to the housing 1.

When the cover 2 is opened according to Figure 2, an upper housing compartment 28 becomes accessible, which has individual storage compartments 20 in which measuring sensors 19 and other measuring utensils are accommodated. Furthermore, a printer 17 and a battery 18 are arranged in the upper housing compartment 28. The storage compartment can thus accommodate a wide variety of measuring utensils that must be protected from environmental influences.

In the cover 2, there is also a further storage compartment 14, into which cables 16 and other parts are inserted. These cables 16 are connected to the front by a panel

which ensure that the cables 16 do not fall out of the storage compartment 14 when the lid 2 is closed.

The cover 2 is connected to the rear wall of the housing 1 via hinges 13, wherein the hinges are designed to pivot through a pivot angle of 180°.

From Figures 1 and 2 it can also be seen that the entire housing 1 is provided with edge protection pads 12 on the edges in order to make the housing impact and shock resistant.

According to Figure 3, it is important that the front panel 3 is held in a front frame 21 and the front frame is connected at its rear to a carrier plate 22, which carries the electrical circuit 23 on the underside.

Parallel to the plane of the carrier plate 22, fastening rails 24 are provided, each of which is connected on the one hand to the back of the front frame and on the other hand extends into the lower housing compartment 27 in which the carrier plate 22 with the electrical circuit 23 is accommodated. This lower housing compartment 27 is therefore separated from the upper housing compartment 28 by a partition wall of the measuring case (not shown in detail), so that when the front frame 21 is closed, the lower housing compartment 27 is completely closed, whereby it is important that the front frame 21 has sealing profiles in the direction of the adjacent housing edge 30, so that the entire front frame is sealed at this housing edge 30. It can thus be pulled off the housing edge 30 in the direction of arrow 29, which then makes the entire carrier plate with the circuit 23 underneath accessible.

Figure 4 shows another embodiment of a different

designed hinge for pivoting the cover 2 on the housing 1. This hinge is designed as a hinge arm 25, with the two hinge arms each guided in lateral slots 26 of the housing 1. Instead of pivoting the cover 2 by 180° - as shown in Figure 2 - the cover 2 is only pivoted up by 90° according to Figure 4.

Overall, the innovative measuring case has the advantage that the measuring equipment can now be carried in one and the same housing, protected from environmental influences, and is easily accessible when the lid 2 is opened. It is also important that the entire electrical circuit 23 is housed in a sealed lower housing compartment 27, which is designed as a completely closed chamber.
