Wenn ein Plansichter mit mehreren über einander gesetzten Sieben in kreisende Bewegung versetzt wird, dann fällt das Mehl auf den unten befindlichen Sammelböden; da es jedoch heftig hin- und hergeworfen wird, fliegt der in demselben befindliche Mehlstaub, besonders während derjenigen Hälfte der kreisenden Bewegung, während welcher das Mehl auf dem Sammelboden weiter befördert wird, wieder in die Höhe und setzt sich gröfstentheils an die unteren Seiten der Siebflächen an, deren Maschen es verstopft; aufserdem dringt ein Theil davon wieder in die Siebe, mischt sich mit dem Sichtgute und erschwert das Sieben sehr.When a plansifter with several sieves placed on top of each other in circular motion is added, then the flour falls on the collecting floors below; because it but is violently tossed to and fro, the flour dust in it flies, especially during that half of the circular movement during which the flour is transported on the collecting floor, again upwards and settles for the most part on the lower sides of the sieve surfaces whose meshes it clogs; in addition, part of it penetrates the sieves again, mixes with the visible goods and makes sieving very difficult.

A stellt den Sammelboden eines Plansichters vor, an dessen oberem Rande eine Reihe S eck'scher Förderklappen C angeordnet ist. Jede dieser Klappen ist mit einem mit ihr einen stumpfen Winkel bildenden Deckel B versehen. Wenn sich nun der Plansichter in derjenigen Hälfte seines Kreislaufes befindet, in welcher die Klappen C das Sichtgut nicht weiter befördern, sondern im Ruhezustand sind, so sind die Deckel B offen und das neue Sichtgut fällt auf diese Deckel und von da in den Sammelboden (Fig. 1 und 2). Sobald aber der Plansichter in diejenige Hälfte seines Kreislaufes eintritt, in welcher die Klappen C sich heben und das Sichtgut weiter befördern, legen sich die Deckel B einer auf den anderen und schliefsen den Sammelboden oben gänzlich ab, so dafs der in diesem Augenblick gerade sehr aufgerührte Mehlstaub nicht in die Höhe fliegen kann (Fig. 3 und 4).
