Description
Electric room temperature control To the electric room heating To be able to operate economically, any unnecessary power consumption must be avoided will. It is therefore the room to be heated during its period of use only supply as much heat by electrical means as absolutely necessary for comfort the room occupant is required, while the room temperature is then at a bearable level Dimension is to be reduced when the room is no longer used, because it would be a unnecessary waste of energy, e.g. B. bedrooms during the day and offices during the night to heat to high temperatures when not in use. On the other hand is in such a case it is not advisable to turn off the heating completely Cooling down the room too much can be undesirable if it is for a very short period of time Warm-up time is important. Also, the freezing limit should be used because of the risk to the Water pipe and the like are not undercut. From this it follows that from economic Reasons the room temperature is to be regulated precisely independently and that its height as well is to be set as required, for which purpose the known bimetal regulators are expedient and in particular mercury contact thermometers can be used. The change the room temperature setting is carried out in a known manner, including the Bi-metal regulator by turning a knob or the like. By hand, and in the Contact thermometer by shifting the temperature setting by means of a magnet. The exact setting to the desired temperature in each case requires a certain amount of time Care; it is by no means so easy with the usual contact thermometers, and there is also the fact that the adjustment must often take place within 24 hours, because in the rarest cases the rooms are used continuously day and night, an adjustment might be unnecessary. If z. B. If you forget to lower the room temperature in an office in the evening, so will consumes electricity unnecessarily; early in the morning the room won't go back to normal Temperature i is set, it remains cold. The difficulties become even greater if it is a large building with quite a few rooms; it should then a lot of controls have to be adjusted more often during the day.
These difficulties are overcome by this invention by that the control unit is no longer set or adjusted by hand, but that it is switched over by a switch without the setting on the temperature sensors will be changed.
The drawings show the solution in some exemplary embodiments. In Fig. I, an electric heater 1a is controlled via a switch tube r. This tube r is operated by a coil s. This coil s is connected in series with a resistor w and connected to the mains voltage '. The resistance w is dimensioned so large that the low current intensity which flows through the series-connected resistor and the coil cannot cause the quiescent current tube r to switch off.
In the present case, the control element consists of two adjustable ones Mercury contact thermometers tt and tn, the first of which at daytime temperature of 20 ° C and the second is set to night temperature io ° C. The two thermometers are connected in series and are shunted to the resistance w. If the Room temperature has risen to 20 °, the mercury thread of the contact thermometer gives tt contact, and the control circuit from b to c is established via the two contact thermometers tt and tn closed, so that the resistor w is bridged. The coil s takes after bridging the resistance too much current on that the quiescent current tube r switches off and disconnects the radiator from the mains. When the room temperature drops If the mercury thread interrupts the control circuit, the resistance w is again upstream of the coil .s, the closed-circuit relay r switches the heating element again a.
If the control is to be switched to the night temperature, then the thermometer cannot be adjusted, rather it is switched on by turning the Switch a short-circuited, so that an interruption on the thermometer tt is ineffective remains, and the second thermometer t "regulates the room temperature to io °.
A timer can also be installed in place of the hand switch a, which the room temperatures z. B. in an office after work on the night temperature and switches back to daytime temperature in good time in the morning.
A switch a can be used to set the desired contact thermometer. The thermometer t1 is set to the highest and the thermometer t to the lowest, the night temperature. When the switch a is on contact k1, the thermometer regulates t1; on the contact point k., the thermometer t1 is short-circuited, it then regulates the thermometer t2, etc. and on the contact k. the night thermometer t ,.
Fig. 3 shows a central changeover of the room temperature for several Spaces. From each control unit St, which is accommodated in a room, the Control wires led to a central panel Z. In each control circuit there is a Built-in switch a, whereby the room temperature can be changed.
In large office buildings, it is convenient to use the temperatures change by a timer. There are then two contacts for each control circuit provided on the timer. So even after the office closes, if necessary, individual A bypass switch is used in these rooms where rooms can be heated for a longer period of time to provide; which is in series with switch a and the one bridged by the clock Circuit opens again. This bypass switch is when leaving the relevant To close the room again.
You can even go further and have another automatic central Provide for switching off by a clock in the late evening hour, which those rooms, which were switched to daytime temperature by bypass switch, to nighttime temperature switches. Such a time clock can also be used at a different time switch, for example, during the peak load of the power station.
