Bei Isolieranordnungen für elektrische Hochspannungsapparate hoher Spannungen, bei denen sich zwei konzentrisch ineinanderliegende Zylinder mit verschiedenem Potential gegenüberstehen, läßt sich zwar die Isolierung der homogenen Felder zwischen den Zylindern durch eine Isolation aus aufgewickeltem Papier und Öl gut erreichen, die Beherrschung der Randfelder bereitet aber in vielen Fällen Schwierigkeiten. Das gilt besonders dann, wenn sich das übliche Umreißen des Papiers zu Winkelringen oder Isolationskappen schlecht durchführen läßt, wie es z. B. der Fall ist, wenn ein längerer Zylinder über einem kürzeren angeordnet ist.
