Die Neuerung befaßt sich mit einem Abscheider für mit Schwimmstoffen, insbesondere ölen und Fetten, verunreinigte Abwasser des Typs, bei dem ein ohne Freispiegel arbeitendes Abscheidegehäuse im wesentlichen horizontal durchströmt wird. Die Schwimmstoffe sammeln sich an der höchsten Stelle des Deckels des Abscheidegehäuses und werden in kurzen Zeitabständen durch öffnen des dort angesetzten Absperrorgans in eine Ableitung und einen Sammelcontainer ausgetragen.The innovation concerns a separator for waste water contaminated with floating substances, especially oils and fats, of the type in which the flow is essentially horizontal through a separator housing that operates without a free surface. Es kann auch vorkommen, daß durch Gärung der Abscheiderinhaltsstoffe Faulgas, insbesondere Methan, entsteht, das sich ebenfalls im oberen Bereich des Abscheiders ansammelt. Als Abhilfe wird neuerungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, das Absperrorgan derart schräg anzuschließen und die Ableitung nach dem Absperrorgan derart geneigt zu verlegen, daß das sich vor dem Absperrorgan sammelnde Luft- und Gasvolumen bei dem dem Schwimmstoffaustrag dienenden öffnen des Absperrorgans mit ausgetragen wird. Vorteilhafterweise wird hinter dem Absperrorgan an der höchsten Stelle der Schwimmstoffableitung eine Entlüftungsleitung abgezweigt. Dann kann die Schwimmstoffableitung mit Vollfüllung betrieben werden, so daß keine Luft in den Sammelcontainer gelangen kann.However, it is to be expected that this ventilation device will fail, particularly due to stagnant light materials. Die Schwimmstoffe sammeln sich unter Verdrängung von Reinwasser an der Spitze des Konusdeckels 13, wo die Abzugsöffnung 16 durch einen schräg aufgesetzten Schieber 17 verschlossen ist. Von dort führt eine mit einem Sichtfenster 18 ausgerüstete Abzugsleitung 19 fort, die an ihrer höchsten Stelle eine Entlüftungsleitung 19' aufweist.
