Solche Leuchtsymbolkörper geben in der Regel Firmenzeichen wieder oder stellen Schriftzüge oder andere Buchstabenkombinationen, wie Firmenbezeichnungen etc., dar. Ebenfalls notwendige Stromzuführungen, Leuchtstoffröhrenhalterungen etc. sind zur Vereinfachung der Darstellung weggelassen, der Leuchtbuchstabe weist eine Leuchtstoffröhre 4 auf, die am Boden der Gehäusewanne 2 befestigt ist. Die Gehäusewanne 2 stellt vom Betrachter aus gesehen den rückwärtigen Teil des Leuchtbuchstabens dar und besteht aus lichtundurchlässigem Kunststoff.
