The invention relates to a hand-operated tool, namely a screw-in safety cap, which can only be screwed and unscrewed or unlocked using a special mounting adapter with an integrated ball pressure coupling. The safety cap is referred to below as (GSV-K), the mounting adapter is referred to below as (MA).

End caps are well-known in trade and industry, especially in the installation of piping systems. They are usually made of brass, cast iron or steel. They can be screwed in and out using standard tools or pipe wrenches.

The invention is based on the task of creating a closure cap that can only be installed or removed by authorized persons using a special tool that is not commercially available. If the consumer is not yet or temporarily not receiving gas from a gas house connection, the gas meter has not yet been installed or has been removed by the utility company. The gas meter connection tap, which is closed but open at the meter connection, is usually additionally secured with a commercially available closure cap so that no gas flows into the house if the gas tap is accidentally opened. These closure caps have the disadvantage that the gas network can be manipulated at any time to allow uncontrolled gas extraction. The cap, as the only security feature, can be easily removed using commercially available tools.

This results in a relatively high risk of accidents due to improper dismantling, which can even lead to disasters due to explosions.

Likewise, it was usually difficult for the utility company to subsequently provide evidence of unauthorized gas extraction, since the cap could easily be unscrewed again after extraction. The same applies to a number of other security closure requirements.

After a safety plug had already been developed with G 87 04 424.2, the task arose of sealing parts with external threads.

The inventive aim is achieved by the fact that the GSV-K is only screwed on or loosened by the special MA with its integrated ball pressure coupling.

After screwing on the GSV-K and loosening the adapter, there is no longer any point of contact on the GSV-K for standard tools or a pipe wrench. The outer ring (2) is connected to the closure cap (1) in a non-detachable but slightly rotating manner, so that no rotational forces can be transferred to the closure cap.

The technically clear design of the screwed-in GSV-K can only be recognized by a neutral observer as an integral component.

If the balls match the ball sockets provided, the balls (3) move into the cavities provided (b) and allow the pressure bolt (2) to move upwards until it stops.

In this state, the balls are firmly locked, thus creating a force-locking connection between the GSV-K and the MA (B).

The GSV-K is now screwed on using a ring spanner attached to the wrench attachment surface of the adapter housing (1).

To remove the MA (B) from the GSV-K, simply press on the cap nut to return to the position shown in Pos.II. The tool part MA (B) is ready to be removed.

The advantage of this device according to the invention is its high level of security against manipulation, for example on the gas network when the gas meter has not yet been installed. Violent removal, if this is even possible, will always be detected by damage even after the GSV-K has been reinserted and will be verifiable for the utility company.

In order to ensure the greatest possible responsibility for the application, a distribution channel is chosen that only allows authorized companies and authorities to purchase the tool. The application area of gas pipelines shown in the example can be applied to a large number of cases where safety locks are required.

The tool can be differentiated for other areas of application at any time by changing the number and size of the force-fit connections. The costs for producing the GSV-K are within the usual range, comparable to other sealing plugs.
