Process for the preparation of conversion products of superpolyamides
It has been found that valuable conversion products of superpolyamides can be produced
leave if you react superpolyamides with so much alkylene oxide that they are water-soluble
will.
gut brauchbar.Superpolyamides suitable for this purpose are in particular those which
those of co, 'diamines and dicarboxylic acids or of aminocarboxylic acids or mixtures
these substances or their polyamide-forming derivatives are available. For example
are the super polyamides made from pentamethylenediamine, hexamethylenediamine or higher molecular weight
aliphatic diamines or their mixtures with glutaric acid, adipic acid, pimelic acid
or higher molecular weight dicarboxylic acids or mixtures of such dicarboxylic acids are suitable.
The polycondensation of higher molecular weight aminocarboxylic acids, such as aminocaproic acid,
or their lactams are available superpolyamides for reaction with alkylene oxides
good usable.
The reaction can be carried out in a customary manner by heating said
Starting materials with one or more alkylene oxides, e.g. B. with ethylene or propylene oxide,
expediently in excess, in closed vessels or by introducing the alkylene oxides
into the melts of the superpolyamides or their solutions in organic solvents
be performed. The implementation usually works with relatively mild ones
Temperatures in front of you, for example between 8o and 15o °. When using melts
higher temperatures come into consideration, which depend on the melting point of the starting materials
depend.
Depending on the amount and type of alkylene oxide used and the nature
of the raw material used
one receives products from different
Properties. In general, the oxyalkylation lowers the melting point.
Die erhaltenen Oxalkylierungsprodukte hinnen eine vielseitige Verwendung
finden, z.
cellulosehaltigen Stoffen, z. B. regenerierter Cellulose, verwendet werden. The oxyalkylation products obtained have a wide range of uses
find e.g. B. as a plasticizer for plastics, especially those made of super polyamides.
They can also be used as plasticizers for films or film-like structures made of water-swellable
cellulosic substances, e.g. B. regenerated cellulose can be used.
It is known to be used in the manufacture of linear, thread-forming superpolyamides
from aminocarboxylic acids to stop the growth of the chain-shaped polyamide molecules
Add alkylene oxides or the finished super polyamides to compensate for acidic
Treat end groups with alkylene oxides. In any case, the results were so small
Amounts of alkylene oxide applied that the products obtained in contrast to those after
of the present invention were water insoluble.
Behandelt man
Eigenschaften. It is also known, high molecular weight, polyamide-like condensation products
by condensation of diamines with a-ß-unsaturated monocarboxylic acids or their
Manufacture derivatives and post-treat the products with alkylene oxides. Included
arise initially through the addition of the u- / 3-unsaturated monocarboxylic acids to the
Diamines Aminocarboxylic acids which, in addition to a terminal amino group, have a secondary
Contain amino group. These aminocarboxylic acids then react with elimination of water
and polyamide formation with itself. However, no linear, high-polymer,
thread-forming polyamides, but apparently as a result of the participation of the secondary amino group
in the reaction products are obtained which are branched and consequently a pronounced one
have resinous character and in the most highly condensed state, if at all,
deliver only relatively short (- ') de threads. About the extent of the follow-up treatment
nothing is known of these condensation products with alkylene oxides. Treated one
if they contain so much alkylene oxide that they become water-soluble, then one obtains products
of considerably lower molecular weight than the alkoxylated linear superpolyamides
according to the present invention. Draw due to their higher molecular weight
the oxyalkylation products according to the invention over the known ones
higher binding capacity and are therefore more suitable than, for example
Glue or as a binder. It is also known from literature to be aliphatic
Polyamines, e.g. B. polyethylene diamines, with compounds with at least two acylating
Groups, preferably with halides of cyanuric acid or with at least one
to implement acylating and an alkylating group. If necessary, you can
resulting insoluble reaction products by treatment with alkylene oxides
make water soluble. However, that proposal is not more linear in terms of manufacture
Polycondensation products such as super polyamides and their reaction with alkylene oxides,
but exclusively to the manufacture of products with a significantly lower molecular weight
thought. Example 10 parts of an 8o ° r, aqueous solution obtained by heating for 5 hours

Ethylene oxide leaves a swollen, gelatinous mass that is soluble in water

can be used for printing pastes. Example 2 io parts of a by llischkondensatioii

Mixed superpolyamides are mixed with 100 parts of ethylene oxide for 15 hours to 120 to 150 '
heated. After removing the excess ethylene oxide, a pale yellowish color remains
colored jelly which is clearly soluble in water. Used in place of the alky
lenoxyds a corresponding amount of propylene oxide, then one obtains products with similar ones
Properties.
