Dishwashers With dishwashers, the laundry is not only flattened, but also dried. Only part of the heat given off by the heated trough is fed directly to the laundry. A major part, however, is used to dry the upholstery covers that are on the cylinder. The performance of the ironer depends largely on the speed with which the cylinder covers are dried. Since the amount of heat given off by the trough is necessarily limited, there has been no lack of measures to accelerate the drying process of the cylinder covers in ways other than heat emission from the trough and thus to increase the ironing performance. One of these measures is that the cylinder jacket of the roller is perforated and that air is sucked in from the outside to the inside through the cylinder covers. This air that is sucked through is enriched with moisture as it passes through the covers and is conducted into the open with it. But even this additional drying can only be very limited. The air sucked in from the ironer is already considerably enriched with moisture, so that the absorption capacity for further moisture is only very low. It is true that this ability to absorb moisture is increased by the fact that the air heats up on the upholstery as it passes through it. However, this heat has to be replaced again and again by the trough, so that the trough does not relieve the stress by this amount of heat, which should actually be the purpose of air drying. The cooling of the cylinder makes it useless to increase the amount of air drawn in beyond a certain amount. It has also been proposed that additional heat be supplied to the cylinder padding by allowing it to be radiated from the outside through a radiator. Due to the low conductivity of the cylinder cover, the felt or more layers of fabric at a thickness up to .2o mm and is about this illumination has the cylinder cover no depth effect and does not penetrate to the moisture nests that form immediately above the perforated cylinder shell. There is also the risk that the top layers of the cylinder cover, which are already exposed to flattening temperatures of iSo ° and above, will yellow and quickly be destroyed.
According to the invention, in this bowl ironer, in addition to the bowl
the padded cylinder is also heated, as is the perforated cylinder jacket
as well as that conveyed into the cylinder and used to dry the upholstery
Air is heated by radiators attached to the one located inside the cylinder
and conduit used to convey air out of the cylinder or into the cylinder
are arranged.
The following advantages are achieved by this arrangement: As a result of the
, good conductivity of the perforated cylinder jacket, the heat is the same
absorbs by exposure, evenly distributed, so that local overheating
of the fabric covering placed on the cylinder jacket is avoided. A danger
the scorching of the upholstery as a result of the additional heating is all the less
to be feared than the plateau temperatures of 18o ° and more, as they are for the external
Layers of the upholstery come into question, due to the poor thermal conductivity
do not penetrate into the lower layers. In addition, these lower layers tolerate
an additional warming all the more since the dreaded pockets of moisture are located here
form. As a result of the good conductivity: the cylinder jacket becomes that of this
absorbed heat is brought to these moisture pockets, because this is where the greatest heat consumption is reached
takes place. The greatest advantage of internal heating is that it can be heated from the outside
inwardly sucked air quantities are heated after their penetration into the cylinder
and thus also raise the dew point. The risk of condensation
inside the cylinder and through the perforation of the cylinder in the cover
flows back is considerably reduced, and to the same extent there is the possibility of
to significantly increase the amount of air that is used to dry the cylinder covers.
However, the application of the subject matter of the invention is not restricted
on mangles with suction, but can also be beneficial for such mangles in
There are questions in which the drying air passes through a centrally located pipe
Pressure is pumped into the cylinder and its way through the cylinder covers from the inside
outwards instead of the other way around. Heated by the heating elements installed inside
this air even before it passes through the perforated Zvli.ndermantel and
the upholstery on top. Because the air is no longer taken from your ironing room
but from the outside, it is less enriched with moisture than
the air of the ironing room. Their ability to absorb moisture is therefore reduced
so larger and is still due to the additional heating inside the cylinder
increased accordingly. The drying effect of this air is therefore particularly great.
Die Zeichnung stellt zwei Anwendungsbeispiele des Erfindungsgegenstandes
dar.
The drawing represents two application examples of the subject matter of the invention
Fig. i shows part of the subject matter of the invention in longitudinal section; the
Fig. 2 shows the same application example in cross section; Fig. 3 shows another
Application example, also in cross section.
verlorengehen. In the steam-heated trough i, the cylinder 2 rotates in the direction of the arrow
A. As a result of the rotary movement of the cylinder, the input point 3 is fed
Laundry grasped and pulled through the trough. She leaves the trough at the dispensing point
q .. A fabric cover 6 is placed on the perforated jacket 5 of the cylinder 2. While
the passage through the trough i, this fabric cover 6 absorbs moisture.
The moisture contained in the fabric cover 6 must be removed before the corresponding
Part of the cover for new laundry recorded. This release of moisture occurs through re-evaporation,
namely within the time in which the fabric cover is outside the cavity.
The drying effect through re-evaporation can be increased if room air is in the direction
of the arrows 7 is sucked through the cover into the interior of the cylinder 2. This air
which is partially or fully saturated with moisture is passed through the suction tube
8 promoted outdoors. According to the invention 8 radiators are below the suction pipe
9 arranged, which illuminate the cylinder 2 from the inside. The transversely arranged
Sheet metal io has the purpose of the heat transfer from the heater 9 to the suction pipe
8 and the rays captured by the shielding plate on the cylinder jacket
5 throw back. A heating of the tube 8 is to be avoided because the
The air volumes transported in it are directed into the open and for the drying effect
get lost.
In diesem Fall
Zylinderbezuges entsprechend schneller erfolgt. In FIG. 3, the radiators i i are arranged around the pipe 12.
This arrangement will be useful when the air is not from the outside to the inside
sucked, but pumped through the pipe 12 into the cylinder 13 and from there to
is pressed outside through the perforated jacket and the wrapping. In this case
the heating of the pipe i2 and thus the air conveyed in it is advisable,
than this increases the water absorption capacity of the air and the drying of the
Cylinder reference takes place correspondingly faster.
geringen Kosten verbunden. The application of the subject matter of the invention should not only apply to defects
with suction, but also extend to those without suction. This simplifies
the construction is very essential, and the manufacture of these mangles is with
associated with low costs.
Mangeln viel stärker in Erscheinung treten.
In
The use of the subject matter of the invention is particularly recommended for mangles heated by low pressure steam. Here the trough temperatures are so low that only small amounts of heat can be given off per unit area, so that relief by using a further additional heat source is definitely desirable. There is also the fact that the unpleasant accompanying circumstances, as they occur when air is sucked through .the covers, such. B. Cooling of the covers, formation of condensation, with low-pressure steam-heated mangles appear much more pronounced. On the other hand, however, the use of low-pressure steam for heating ironers often cannot be avoided. In these cases, the use of the subject matter of the invention is particularly advantageous.
