Man hat früher schon Profildrähte aus Stahl zur Herstellung von Kolbenringen benrutzt, .doch wiesen diese Kolbenringe sehr schlechte Laufeigenschaften auf, so daß ihre Verwenidung nur in ganz speziellen Fällen möglich war.
