In Fig.
Short-circuited compensation winding for commutator machines
DC or AC commutator machines, it turns out to be in some cases
expedient, namely to improve commutation during switching operations
to design the compensation winding as a self-short-circuited winding,
because this reduces the cost of this winding as a result of a simpler design and weaker
Isolation can be significantly reduced. One might think of such a thing
short-circuited compensation winding through one housed in the exciter part
Replace damper cage, as illustrated in FIG. I of the drawing
I represent the main poles, 2 the reversing poles and 3 the damper winding. The damper cage
however, it is only limited as a replacement for a short-circuited compensation winding
useful because it shorts the main and reversing poles. However, you can call it short-circuited
Make compensation winding useful if you leave out the interfering connections,
as Fig. 2 of the drawing illustrates. A short-circuited one then results
Compensation winding, according to the invention from between the center of a main pole
and the center of an adjacent turning pole consists of a single frame,
which in turn consist of a compensation rod located in the main pole and one in the
There is a gap between the main and the reversing pole of the return rod. In Fig.
2 are these between the centers 4 and 5 of a main pole and an adjacent one

Flow
the armature reaction induces the compensation current in the frame. This
Current now exerts the compensation effect on the armature field via the compensation rod 6
from, while the return rod 7 only the creation of the current in the compensation frame
enables. Because the current in the return rod flows in the opposite direction
than in the compensation rod, it enhances the compensation effect of the compensation rod
partly on. This disadvantage can be avoided by using the return rod
Magnetically linked to the armature winding as little as possible while on the other hand
the compensation rod is to be linked with the armature winding as well as possible. To this
to achieve, one will be arranged in the gap between the main and turning pole
Hold the return rod further away from the armature winding during the
Compensation rod in a known manner as close as possible to the air gap of the machine in
the pole pieces of the main poles is arranged.
sogar unerwünscht, weil keine hohen Kraftliniendichten entstehen. From the arrangement of FIG. 3, which shows the current curve in the rods of the
Armature winding 8, the exciter winding 9 arranged on the main poles and in the
Reverse winding Io shows, it can be seen that within the between the centers
the pole pitch extending from the reversing poles determines the direction of the current at the reversing poles
the opposite is than in the armature winding. One can therefore use the return rods
the compensation frame, which is located in the gap between the main and reversing pole,
Magnetically closely concatenate with the reversing pole winding, so that they are separated from the reversing pole winding
be induced. The reversing pole winding becomes that of the armature winding in the compensation frame
Increase the induced current because the direction of the current in the return rod is the opposite
is than in the compensation rod. So you can use the return rod of the compensation frame
at the reversing pole and also as far as possible away from the air gap of the machine
keep. It can then be used to support or fix the reversing pole winding at the same time
to serve. 3 also shows that one side of the excitation winding at the main pole as well
9 has the opposite current direction than the armature winding. One can therefore
the return rod of a compensation frame also with this side of the field winding
of the main pole are magnetically closely linked. The return rod lying in the pole gap
is then particularly affected by the main excitation winding in the event of sudden changes in current
strongly induced, and then he practices just like his magnetic chaining
off a compensation with the reversing pole winding together with the compensation rod.
However, this only applies to the compensation frame shown in Fig. 3 on the right
Side of the main poles are arranged. With the compensation frame on the left
the excitation winding 9 would be the return rod, similar to the armature winding,
induce in the wrong sense, because in it the current with the current in the armature winding
is rectified. The investigations show, however, that precisely on those sides
the main poles at which the excitation current and armature current have opposite directions,
also the strongest peaks of the force line densities arise, which are responsible for the round fire hazard
are decisive on the commutator. It is precisely these peaks that are used by the one with the excitation winding
coupled compensation frame is particularly powerfully damped. On the other side of the pole
In Fig. 3, left, the effect is small, but also not necessary at all, often
even undesirable because there are no high density of lines of force.
Fig. 5 der Zeichnung zeigt die Ausbildung des
Fig. 4 of the drawing shows the mechanical arrangement in this magnetic
Concatenation of the return rods on the compensation frame with those on the main poles
arranged excitation winding. 6 are those in the pole pieces of the main poles at the air gap
Compensating rods accommodated in the compensation frame, 7 are the return rods.
These are on the pole shoe extensions on the side facing away from the air gap
housed in the pole shoe, so they are in the immediate vicinity
with the excitation winding, not shown. So the whole compensation framework is
attached to the main poles themselves. Fig. 5 of the drawing shows the formation of the
Compensation frame, if the return rods also to the mechanical
Determination of the excitation winding on the main poles are intended to serve. One can see that
here the return rods 7 take over the lateral support of the field winding.
