Die gemäß dem Patent 877 559 vorgesehene Maßnahme, d,aß die zwischen dem Kolben und dem Zylinder liegende Dichtführung Ringrillen umschließt, die Luftpolster darstellen, bringt die Dichtung auf eine solche Höhe der Vollkommenheit, daß, wie Versuche festgestellt haben, der Schwingungsdämpfer nicht mehr von kreisförmigem Querschnitt zu sein braucht, was bisher der Rundbearbeitung wegen als selbstverständliche Bedingung für die Fertigung galt.
