Description
The invention relates to an electron beam generator for two different electron beams running in approximately the same direction Electron speed, one of which surrounds the other like a hose. Such electron guns are widely used in tubes for very short periods of time Waves are used in which the two electron beams cross each other over the common Field brought into interaction with a progressing electromagnetic wave will. For this purpose it is customary to have two of each other in front of a common pulling anode to provide separate cathodes, between which there is a speed difference of the two beams is the corresponding potential difference.
The invention consists in that in such an electron gun on the inside of the outer cathode and on the outside of the inner cathode ring-shaped electrodes are provided, the angle of inclination opposite the cathode surfaces is chosen so that a focusing of the outer, hose-like Electron beam from the inside and a focusing of the inner beam takes place from the outside. So. can expediently on the inner edge of the outer cathode a metal ring should be attached, which is about one with inclined cathode surface forms flat disc with a corresponding opening. The inner cathode is on outer edge with advantage provided a cylindrical approach, which is used for focusing of the inner electron beam is used.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. the Figure shows an embodiment in its essential parts for the invention in a simplified representation. It is a two-beam generation system with two separately heated cathodes, which is illustrated in section. The stokers are arranged directly below the two cathode surfaces. To both of them Cathodes, of which the inner is designated with i and the outer with 2 and the are held insulated from one another for the purpose of depositing different voltages, are followed by focusing electrodes, which are designed in such a way that the desired Beam guidance is achieved. The outer edge of the outer electron beam becomes in a manner known per se with the help of a specially designed Wehnelt cylinder 3 focused. The shape of the pulling anode 4 serves the same purpose. On the inside edge @ the outer cathode: 2, a metal ring 5 is provided according to the invention, the The angle of inclination with respect to the cathode surface is chosen so that the electron beam as a result, it is focused from the inside. The cathode has the same i, which is used to generate the inner electron beam, at its outer edge a cylindrical extension 6, which focuses the inner electron beam causes. Both cathode systems are surrounded by common shield plates 7 and 8, to reduce harmful heat radiation to the outside.
