The 'invention relates to a galvanic battery, in particular
for radiosondes, with refillable storage elements with bipolar electrodes from the system solution electrode-e-electrolyte-solid
Depolarizer, preferably zinc-sulfuric acid-lead dioxide, with one on the solution electrode
overlying conductive layer.
In the case of the battery according to the invention, with respect to an extreme
Weight and space savings thereby achieved a particular technical advantage,
that a known per se, applied to the conductive layer, flush on the outside
final flat insulating frame a thin layer of the depolarizer and a
Electrolyte carrier made of absorbent material, with .the solution electrode of the
Adjacent element glued liquid-tight and at its upper part with a
Recess is provided through which the electrolyte is filled when starting up
will.
In seinem oberen Teil
According to the invention, the insulating frame consists of an elastic one
Substance and is with the solution electrode, e.g. the zinc foil of the neighboring element,
glued in a liquid-tight manner using acid-proof plastic. In its upper part
the insulating frame is provided with a recess through which the electrolyte
is filled during commissioning. To help fill the electrolyte into each
Elements to avoid electrical shunts with neighboring elements is the
Solution electrode, e.g. B. the zinc foil, at its upper edge and on the recess
of the frame of the neighboring element facing side to a few millimeters with acid-resistant
Varnish covered. According to the invention, the individual sub-elements of the battery are through
simply stacking them one behind the other and under pressure into a common one
Rigid container used in such a way that the end walls of the container have a constant
Apply pressure, which after filling the elements by swelling the absorbent
Electrolyte carrier is reinforced.

As can be seen from Fig. 2, the individual elements are equipped with bipolar electrodes, which consist, for example, of a zinc foil z and a depolarizer d applied with the interposition of a conductive layer s. The depolarizer d, like the electrolyte carrier t, is enclosed by a common insulating frame r, which is applied flush on the outside of the conductive layer s using a liquid-tight bond with acid-resistant plastic. In its upper part, the insulating frame r is provided with a recess ca, as can be seen in Fig. I, through which the electrolyte is filled when the system is started up. As Fig. 2 shows, the zinc foil z is covered over a few millimeters with acid-resistant lacquer l at its upper edge on the side facing the recess in the frame of the neighboring element. As can be seen from Fig. 3, the sub-elements are simply connected one after the other and inserted under pressure into a rigid container b in such a way that the end walls of the container exert a constant pressure which, after the elements have been filled, is increased by the filling of the absorbent electrolyte carrier.
