The subject matter of the invention is an ÜbeIStromrelalS for direct current systems,
which is characterized by a very high overload capacity of all existing windings.
Often, direct current relays are required that -when a certain current value is exceeded
respond and then permanently tolerate a multiple of this operating current thermally
should. For example, in rectifier systems, a
Relay requires a base load resistor for small currents in order to avoid it
the no-load peak should switch on, when a certain current value is exceeded
(about 5 to 10% of the nominal current) the resistance should be bridged by the relay
will. The relay must now have the full rated current, which is about 10 to 2 times
Withstand the amount of the working current, thermally continuously. The most common relays
do not meet this requirement.

The trip coil is connected to a constant alternating voltage and is dimensioned in such a way that
that the resistance of their alternating current winding increases with increasing direct current

The invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example.
In Fig. i ist
(Kurve a).
It becomes an iron choke that is pre-magnetized by the direct current to be displayed
used. The one flowing through the choke coil when a constant alternating voltage is applied
As is well known, alternating current grows with the direct current of the pre-excitation. In Fig. I is
the course of the alternating current is recorded as a function of the pre-excitation direct current
(Curve a). If the direct current is zero, the magnetizing current flows in the choke coil
1, u. If direct current is sent through the bias winding, it increases
the alternating current increases linearly with the direct current within a certain range. In the end
the alternating current grows; if the direct current becomes infinitely large, then the
Alternating current has the value J. "", that is the current strength, which the choke coil.also
would absorb in the absence of iron.
z. B. eine Relaiswicklung, in Reihe geschaltet werden. Bei kleinen Vormagnetisierungsgleichströmen
ist der induktive Widerstand der Drosselspule groß gegenüber dem konstanten Widerstand;
Widerstandes fließt (Kurve a in Fig.i).
Strom J -a erfolgt.
J=a beträgt.
Strom-vom doppelten
Ansprechwert fließt.According to the invention, a constant resistance, z. B. a relay winding can be connected in series. With small direct bias currents, the inductive resistance of the choke coil is large compared to the constant resistance; the alternating current flowing through the choke and resistor (curve b in Fig. i) is only slightly smaller than the alternating current flowing without a constant resistor connected in front (curve a in Fig.i). If the pre-magnetizing direct current is very high, then the constant resistance is high compared to the inductive resistance of the choke coil; the current which flows through the arrangement can thus increase in accordance with the constant resistance by far not as much as in the absence of the constant resistance. The greatest possible current of curve b is therefore only a fraction of the maximum current of curve a. The constant resistance is represented by the winding of the overcurrent relay, which is intended to indicate that a certain direct current value has been exceeded. The design of the choke, which is pre-magnetized by direct current, and the relay winding is carried out in such a way that the relay responds with a current J -a. The value J - " is achieved when the direct bias current is J = a. J-" and J -a lie in the range in which the alternating current increases linearly with the direct current. The direct current becomes infinitely large; then the largest current J. max, for example, only twice as large as yes. There are overcurrent relays that can permanently withstand twice the response value. The relay can therefore be heavily overloaded with regard to the direct current to be displayed, since even with an infinitely large direct current in the relay there is only one. Current flows from twice the response value.
