abgebenden Stoffen, vorzugsweise Salpeter, vermengt, gegebenenfalls fein vermahlcn,
Methods of Making Firelighters The invention relates to
a procedure. for making fire lighters by mixing fuel
with oxygen-releasing substances. Firelighters of this type are already known
which fuels, such as coal dust, charcoal powder, naphthalene and the like., as well as
Oxygen-releasing substances such as saltpeter, manganese dioxide or the like. Contain. These
Firelighters can be. light it slightly with a match and burn
then immediately with a hot flame without any. Smoke and odor nuisance from so that
they ignite briquettes, coal and even coke quickly and safely. A disadvantage of the
known firelighter of this type is that the cohesion is easier
Compression of the starting materials is not satisfactory, so that the igniter often
crumbled and affected their use. According to the invention
this disadvantage is avoided by using moist black peat with oxygen
emitting substances, preferably nitre, mixed, if necessary finely ground,
formed into sticks and: then dried. The one still contained in the black peat
Moisture initially dissolves or dissolves the oxygen-releasing substances
thereby leads to an intimate union of the fuel particles and the oxygen
emitting substances that are fully preserved even after later drying. stays like that
that the dreaded crumbling. the lighter does not come off. Instead of saltpetre
can of course also be added to the mixture. other oxygen-releasing substances,
such as perchlorate, permanganate, manganese dioxide or the like., Are added.
Ein Verhältnis vors i Teil Weißtörf und i Teil Schwarztorf
etwa so zusammenzusetzen, daß auf i Teil Trockensubstanz i Teil Sauerstoff abgebende
Stoffe entfallen. If necessary, the mixture can also contain white peat in addition to moist black peat
mixed in
causing the blooming of the substance carrier
is prevented during drying. A ratio before i part white peat and i part black peat
has proven to be suitable in many cases. It is best to use the firelighter
to be composed in such a way that i part of dry matter releases i part of oxygen
Substances are omitted.
z. B. in Mengen von o, i °/o, zuggemischt werden. Ausführungsbeispiele i. Feuchter

Luft oder künstlich getrocknet werden.According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fuel-oxygen mixture
at. known catalysts, e.g. iron hydroxide, gas cleaning compound or the like,
z. B. in amounts of o, i ° / o, are added. Embodiments i. Wetter

Instead of black peat, a mixture of, white peat and black peat,
mainly in the ratio of i: i based on dry matter, used, the rest
as dealt with under i.
B. Perchlorate
und Permanganate, benutzt. 4. Dem Gemisch unter i, z und 3 wird o, i °/o eines Katalysators,
