for vehicle seats

The invention relates to a cushion, in particular a backrest cushion for motor vehicle seats, with a metal frame and a flat spring element which is connected to the metal frame, as well as with a cushion cover, in particular made of fiber composite material or rubber hair.

In the well-known vehicle backrests, so-called spring mats are connected to the metal frame. These spring mats are known in a wide variety of designs. They form a flat spring element that is connected to the metal frame. The assembly of the flat spring elements or spring mats with the metal frame of the backrest is comparatively complex. To do this, the spring mat must be attached to the frame using several tension springs. After this pre-assembly of the spring mat, the actual poster support is applied, which is placed on the spring mat and connected to the frame.

The assembly of such a backrest for motor vehicle seats is comparatively ^simple . Based on this state of the art, the invention is based on the object of designing a cushion or a backrest of the type assumed to be known in such a way that the number of parts present in the seat assembly is reduced and thus assembly is simplified .

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the flat spring element is arranged within the cushion pad and has holders protruding from the cushion pad for connection to receiving areas of the metal frame.

It is advisable for the upper edge of the cushion to overlap the upper edge of the metal frame like a pocket.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the holders provided on the lower edge of the cushion cover have clamping areas for clipping onto counterparts of the metal frame.

In contrast to the previously known manufacturing technology, the flat spring elements are integrated into the cushion pad and can no longer be separated from the cushion pad after they have been combined. The integration of the flat spring element into the cushion pad has other advantages in addition to assembly-related advantages. This integration means that practically no frictional movement is possible between the cushion pad and the spring element. This creates

the possibility of precisely designing the suspension characteristics of the entire cushion pad with flat spring element according to the requirements. In addition, noises between the spring element and the cushion pad are safely eliminated. The assembly between the cushion pad with integrated spring element and the metal frame is extremely simple. The cushion pad is simply pushed onto the seat frame and clipped to the metal frame using the holders provided.

The backrest has a metal frame that has a circumferential LJ-shaped bracket 2, which is connected at its lower ends via a cross-connecting tube. The cross-connecting tube 5 surrounds the pivot axis of the backrest. The metal frame is only indicated schematically and in practice has numerous shapes and openings that are not shown.

The entire flat spring element 1 is enclosed by the material of the cushion pad 3. This material of the cushion pad 3 can be, for example, fiber composite material or rubber hair or foam.

At the lower end of the flat spring element, two holders 4 are provided, which are attached to the bracket 1b. The two holders 4 provided at the lower end extend backwards through the back of the cushion cover 3 and each have clamping areas 4a. The clamping areas 4a are connected to the other parts of the holders 4 via plastic parts 6. The clamping areas 4a are clipped onto the cross-connecting tube 5 of the metal frame when assembled.

Upholstery, in particular backrest upholstery for motor vehicle seats, with a metal frame and a flat spring element that is connected to the metal frame and with a cushion cover, in particular made of fiber composite material or rubber hair, characterized, that the flat spring element (1) is arranged within the cushion pad (3) and has holders (4) protruding from the cushion pad (3) for connecting to receiving areas of the metal frame (2,5). 2.
