The invention relates to a telecommunications plug connection socket, into the insertion opening of which a plug can be inserted with contact tongues held in isolation from one another on the outside of the plug foot, and which has spring contacts held in isolation from one another in the insertion path of the contact tongues with connection lugs protruding outwards at the base of the socket, which, when the plug is inserted, are in contact with its contact tongues in the intended arrangement, the length of the plug foot being dimensioned such that, when the plug is inserted, its contact tongues end in front of the free ends of the spring contacts in the insertion direction.

Such a connection socket is known, for example, from DE-A-31 Uk 272 or from DE-U-89 OO 228.8.

A similar connection socket is described in EP-B-00 38 431. This publication describes a functional plug connector which, depending on the design of the socket housing, makes it possible for two contact springs to be in contact when not plugged in, so that a circuit is closed via the contact spring strips, which is separated when plugged in, since the contact springs then make contact with the contact tongues of the plug part. In another application, i.e. with a different design of the housing base, the contact springs are kept at a distance by appropriate means, so that the contact springs facing each other are not in contact even when not plugged in.

Based on this state of the art, the invention is based on the task of creating a telecommunications plug connection socket that can be designed in an extremely simple manner by the manufacturer and/or the user so that in the unplugged state either a

To solve this problem, the invention proposes that contact pins are visible in the socket outside the plug-in area, to each of which an associated spring contact is spring-loaded in the case of a plug-free socket, while in the case of a plug-equipped socket the spring contacts are pushed back from the associated contact pins by plug parts without contact.

When the plug-free socket is touched by the spring contact, a closed circuit is created to the free end of the contact pin. When the plug is inserted, the contact between the contact pin and the spring contact is interrupted. In the event that this break-closer function is not desired, the contact pin is either not inserted into the socket at all or the contact pin inserted into the socket is subsequently removed. In a further development, the invention proposes that the contact pins are designed as headless nails and are held in the socket at least frictionally, with their ends facing away from the spring contacts projecting outwards beyond the socket base.

Preferably, the contact pins have limit stops or the like which prevent the contact pins from being pushed too deeply into the socket chamber.

Preferably, it is further provided that perforated separating webs are formed within the socket at a distance from the socket base and approximately parallel to it, through which the contact pins penetrate with a press fit in the perforation area.

This design ensures that the contact pins are held very securely within the socket.

The telecommunications connection socket 1 has an insertion opening 2 for a telecommunications plug. The plug is well known in the field of technology and does not require any further description. It has contact tongues 5 on the outside of the plug base 4, which are kept insulated from one another by ribs.

The plug can be inserted into the insertion opening 2 and can be locked into place if necessary. The contact tongues extend essentially in the insertion direction of the plug base 4 and are arranged parallel to one another. In the chamber delimited by the walls, the socket base 6 and the insertion opening 2

arranged, which with their solder lugs 3 protrude over the socket base 6, reach to the front of the socket and are bent in a V shape, whereby the legs 14 protruding into the insertion path can be bent around a socket edge 9. In this respect, this design corresponds to the previously known state of the art. Legs 14 are in contact with the contact tongues 5 of the plug in the intended arrangement. The length of the plug foot 4 is dimensioned such that its contact tongues 5 end in the insertion direction before the free ends of the legs 14 of the spring contacts 7 when the plug is inserted, as is indicated in drawing figure 2.

In order to design such a plug connection socket 1 in such a way that all or some of the contact springs 7 can take on an opener-closer function, each chamber in which a spring contact is arranged with its leg 14 has a receiving opening for a contact pin 11, one end of which remains on the outside of the base 6 of the socket 1, as can be seen from Figure 2, while the relatively inner end of which overlaps the leg 14 of the spring contact 7, which is pressed down manually or by other suitable means.

so that the rounded end of the leg 14 is in electrical contact with the inner end of the contact pin 11. If the plug part is inserted into the socket i, the leg la is pushed relatively downwards by the plug foot 4 in the drawing figure 2 against the spring force so that the contact with the contact pin 11 is interrupted. For the sake of clarity, only the plug foot 4 is indicated in the drawing figure, but not the complete plug.

The contact pins 11 are designed as headless nails with pointed ends on both sides and preferably have a rectangular or square cross-section. In the exemplary embodiment, the contact pins 11 are held securely within the socket 1 in a separating web 12, which has holes 13 through which the contact pin 11 is pressed with a press fit. are placed on the outside of the separating web 12 when the contact pin II is inserted and thus represent a path limit. This ensures that, on the one hand, the contact pin 11 protrudes sufficiently to the outside of the socket base and, on the other hand, that the plug pin does not protrude too far with its inner end into the insertion opening 2 of the socket 1, which could possibly hinder the insertion of the plug part and disrupt its function.

The invention is not limited to the embodiment, but is variable in many ways within the scope of the disclosure.
