Die Wahl zwischen den verschiedenen Möglichkeiten richtet sich nach dem jeweils zu erzielenden Effekt. Gleiches gilt für die Entscheidung, welche Flächenausdehnung die Schicht aus transparenter Gießmasse haben soll und welcher Flächenteil der Sichtfläche damit abgedeckt werden soll, wobei die Verwendung des Randes aus Keramik zusätzliche Effekte ermöglicht.
