The invention relates to a collection container for dog excrement, consisting of a container made of metal or plastic with an opening that can be closed with a flap.

The increasing number of animals, especially dogs, in large cities brings with it well-known pollution problems on public streets and paths, in parks, etc. Dog excrement in particular is a hygienic and aesthetic problem. In large cities, special facilities and special personnel are therefore required for cleaning work. In order to prevent this type of pollution, dog owners are often directly asked to take care of the removal of contamination themselves, if necessary even under threat of fines. Public dog toilets have also been set up for this purpose, but the animals do not use them or only very rarely. Another problem is the removal of such contamination, as it is faeces.

The invention is based on the object of proposing a collection container for dog excrement that is suitable for installation in public and is functionally designed in such a way that it is readily accepted by the dog owner or dog handler.

Based on the collection container mentioned at the beginning, this task is solved by the container having a holder on the inside for hanging a waste bag, which is located directly below the opening. The dog excrement that is thrown into the container after opening the flap, possibly in a paper or plastic wrapper, is collected in the waste bag. The waste bags can be removed from the container at intervals corresponding to the frequency of use and disposed of separately from other public waste and garbage.

In a further preferred embodiment of the aforementioned embodiment, the flap is assigned a stop for the opening position and a counterweight that always swings it into the closed position.

This design forces the user to keep the closure flap in the open position. In a further advantageous embodiment, an inner container with a receptacle for the waste bag is arranged inside the container. The volume and dimensions of this are designed in such a way that it supports the filled waste bag so that it does not have to constantly bear the weight of the contents itself. The flap 8 forms one of two plate-shaped parts, the other of which is designed as a discharge chute 10. The flap 8 and the discharge chute 10 form a trough in the open position shown in dashed lines into which the dog excrement, which is usually wrapped in paper or plastic, can be placed. The flap 8 and the discharge chute 10 are pivotally mounted on a horizontal axis 11. A counterweight 12 is attached to the discharge chute 10, which ensures that the flap 8 is always pushed into the closed position, whereas in the open position it must be held by hand. In the closed position the discharge chute 10 points downwards into the interior of the container.

An inner container 13 is arranged in the container 1, the opening edge 15 of which forms a receptacle for a waste bag 14, which is designed to have approximately the same volume as the inner container 13. The waste bag 14 can additionally be fixed to the inner container at one or more points.

In the embodiment shown, the container sits on a post 16 and forms a structural unit with it that can be anchored in the ground. The post 16 is cuboid-shaped and has a width corresponding to the width of the container 1. The container 1 is open on its rear side 17. The opening is covered by the post 16.

Preferably, the container 1 is attached to the support post 16 so that it can pivot about a vertical axis by means of concealed hinges 18 or the like. Furthermore, a locking mechanism (not shown) is provided which holds the container in the position of use shown in the drawing.

The inner container 13 is attached directly to the post 16, for example via a tab. By opening the lock and pivoting the container 1 around the axis of the hinges 18, the inner container 13 with the suspended waste bag 14 is accessible, so that the waste bag and its contents can be easily removed and replaced with a fresh waste bag.
