The invention relates to items stamped from double sheet metal,
z. B. Retaining clips for fountain pens and the like. Such retaining clips have been used so far
by simply punching out the blank from double sheet metal with subsequent bending
and pressing into the desired finished shape. This had the disadvantage
that the outer, visible cut surface of the retaining clip has no gold coating
exhibited more and therefore the entire retaining clip was usually re-gilded.
Attempts have already been made to remedy this disadvantage by cutting out the
Blank has worked out the cutting plate in such a way that from the gold plating of the clamp surface
something has been pulled down over the cutting edge. However, this gold layer is considerable
thinner than the gold plating of the double sheet and decreases in the direction of the upper edge
towards the lower edge of the retaining clip. In places it is no longer at all
present or is inevitably worn away when the finished retaining clip is polished.
With this, however, it is precisely the conspicuously visible ones that are most exposed to oxidation
Place the retaining clips without gold plating. The same evils occur with the
Manufacture of other items made of double sheet metal, e.g. B. of jewelry,
Watch cases and the like.
According to the invention, these disadvantages should be avoided by
that the die for making the item with one over the final
Size protruding edge punched, this edge raised and then on the
Sheet thickness is pressed back. In this way it is possible to use objects of the
to produce specified type, in which at least part of its outer edge a
seamlessly adjoins and with the rolled gold plating of the surface
equally thick rolled gold layer. The gold plating of the edge can z. B. at
Retaining clips for fountain pens over the entire edge of the retaining clip or just across
extend the outer edge of the clamp ring.

In
Fig. i i nach der Rückseite hochgestellt, wobei die Platte zugleich eine für die
The punching plate used to produce the retaining clip according to FIG

a base metal base c with a rolled gold plating d, which extends over the entire surface
has the same thickness. The die will be a little bigger than the final shape

is bent to the leg b (Fig. q,), the edge e according to FIGS. 3, 5 and
7 raised to the rear of the punching plate and then to the sheet thickness
pressed back so that. the cross-sections according to FIGS. 6 and 8 result. In
FIG. 6 also shows the ring hole punched out in the course of manufacture.
The final bracket shape is shown in Fig. Z in longitudinal section. The ones shown in FIGS. 9 to 12
