Description
Process for the preparation of monoazo dyes The invention relates to monoazo dyes, e.g. B. of the type of dye of the formula The new dyes correspond to the general formula where R is the radical of an α-aminonaphthalene-6-monosulfonic acid bonded to the azo group in the r position, R1 is a benzene radical, Y is an aryl radical or the group (in which R2 represents an alkyl or aryl radical and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical) and Z represents a benzene radical which is substituted by at least one alkyl radical having at least 3 and at most 8 carbon atoms. Here, alkyl radicals are also to be understood as meaning the radicals of the alicyclic series, in particular the cyclohexyl radical.
To produce these monoazo dyes, according to the invention, 2-aminonaphthalene-6-monosulfonic acids with a primary amino group in the 2-position, such as 2-aminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid and preferably 2-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid, in an acidic agent with diazo compounds from amino-sulfones or amino-sulfonic acid amides of the formula coupled, the meaning of the various symbols resulting from the formula (2) just explained. This also applies to all formulas listed below.
Als Beispiele von Amino-sulfonen und Amino-sulfonsäureamiden, welche aus. diesen Diaminen nach der soeben angeführten Methode herstellbar sind, seien die folgenden erwähnt: 2-Amino-5-(4"-tertiärbutyl- oder -cyclohexylbenzoylamino)-q.'-methoxyi, i'-diphenylsulfon, 2-Amino-5-(q."-tertiärbutylbenzoyl-amino)-i, i'-diphenylsulfon und insbesondere 2-Amino-5-(4"-tertiärbutylbenzoyl-amino)-4'-methyl-i, i'-diphenylsulfon, ferner 2-Amino-5- W- tertiärbutylbenzoylamino) -benzol - i - sulfonsäure-methyl- oder -äthylamid, 2-Amino-5-(4'-tertiärbutylbenzoyl - amino) - benzol - i - sulfonsäure-dimethyl- oder -diäthylamid, 2-Amino-5-(4'-tertiärbutylbenzoyl-amino) -benzol- i -sulfonsäure-cyclohexylamid, 2-Amino-5,(4'-n-propyl- oder -tertiärbutylbenzoyl -amino) -benzol-i-sulfonsäure-phenylamid, 2-Amino-5-(4'-tertiärbutyl- oder -cyclohexylbenzoyl - amino) - benzol-i-sulfonsäure - N-äthyl-N-phenylami.d.The amino-sulfones and amino-sulfonic acid amides of the formula (3), which are used as starting materials in the present process, are new. They can be produced by methods known per se, e.g. B. by using the corresponding diamino-sulfones or diamino-sulfonic acid amides of the formula monoacylated with halides of acids of the formula HOOC-Z (5). As examples of suitable acid halides. should be mentioned here: 4-cyclohexylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride or bromide, 4.-isopropylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride, 4-tertiaryamylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride, 2-methyl-4-tertiary-butylbenzene-r-carboxylic acid chloride, 2,6-dimethyl -4-tert-butylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride, 4-n-octylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride, 3- or 4-tert-butylbenzene-i-carboxylic acid chloride. The diamines of the formula (4) can be an aryl radical as the radical Y; z. B. a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl radical, such as a methylphenyl, chlorophenyl @ or methoxyphenyl radical, or the radical of a primary or secondary amine, e.g. B. contain a methylamino, dimethylamino, phenylamino, diethylamino, chlorophenylamino, N-ethyl-phenylamino or cyclohexylamino group. "- tertiary-butylbenzoyl-amino) -i, i'-diphenylsulfone and in particular 2-amino-5- (4" -tertiary-butylbenzoyl-amino) -4'-methyl-i, i'-diphenylsulfone, also 2-amino-5 - W tertiary butylbenzoylamino) benzene - i - sulfonic acid methyl or ethyl amide, 2-amino-5- (4'-tertiary butylbenzoyl amino) benzene - i - sulfonic acid dimethyl or diethyl amide, 2-amino-5 - (4'-Tertiary-butylbenzoyl-amino) -benzene-i-sulfonic acid-cyclohexylamide, 2-amino-5, (4'-n-propyl- or -tertiary-butylbenzoyl-amino) -benzene-i-sulfonic acid-phenylamide, 2-amino -5- (4'-tert-butyl- or -cyclohexylbenzoyl - amino) - benzene-i-sulfonic acid - N-ethyl-N-phenylami.d.
These amino sulfones and sulfonic acid amides can be obtained according to the usual, diazotize methods customary for compounds which are difficult to diazotize, for example with the help of nitrosyl sulfuric acid. It is often convenient to use the diazo compounds z. B, to be deposited by diluting the diazotization mixture with water, to be filtered off and so to couple with the 2-aminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acids. The coupling takes place in acidic, for example weakly Congo acidic to acetic acidic agent. Here can one z. B. proceed so that the 2-aminonaphthalene-6-monosulfonic acid to be used first converted into an alkali salt, by adding acetic acid back into the free Acid converts, whereby a suspension is obtained, and then the filtered off Diazo compound combined with this suspension. Then the through the coupling reaction resulting free mineral acid z. B. blunted with sodium acetate and optionally the temperature increased a little. The work-up of the coupling compound can be carried out in the usual take place in a known manner, for. B. by neutralizing with sodium carbonate, Filter off and dry.
The dyes obtainable by the present process are new and, as free acids, correspond to the general formula (2) already explained. Among these dyes, those of the formula have proven to be particularly valuable and especially those of this formula which contain a benzene radical as radical Z which is substituted by at least one alkyl radical having at least 3 and at most 6 carbon atoms, preferably in the p-position to the -NHC 0 group. They are suitable for dyeing and printing a wide variety of materials, especially those of animal origin, such as leather, silk and, above all, wool, and various synthetic fibers, e.g. B. from animalized rayon, super polyamides and super polyurethanes, etc. The dyeings obtained with these dyes are distinguished by their valuable shades and their good fastness properties.
In the following example, the parts mean parts by weight and the Percentages by weight. Example 4.2.3 parts of 2-amino-5- (q. "- tert-butylbenzoylamino -) - 4-methyl-i, i'-Diphenylsulfon are in a 7 parts sodium nitrite corresponding solution of Nitrosylsulfuric acid entered in sulfuric acid. After the end of the diazotization is discharged onto ice and the yellowish diazo compound which has precipitated is filtered off with suction. 23.0 parts of 2 amino-8-oxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid are mixed with 13.5 parts of 3oo / oiger Sodium hydroxide solution and 20 parts of water made a paste well, and from the so obtained Sodium salt, the acid is released again by an excess of acetic acid. The diazo compound is rubbed in with this paste. Diluted after a while one with zoo parts of water and gradually dulls the at a moderately elevated temperature free sulfuric acid with sodium acetate. After coupling has ended, sodium carbonate is used neutralized; the dye is filtered off and dried. It forms a dark one Powder that dissolves in water with a red-violet color and wool from acetic acid Bath dyes in bordeaux red tones with excellent wet fastness properties.
If, in place of the diazo component mentioned, 2-amino-5- (q. "- tertiary-butylbenzoylamino) -i, i'-diphenyl sulfone, a dye with similar properties is obtained. That 2-Amino-5- (4 "-tertiary-butylbenzoylamino) -4'-methyl- used as diazo component i, i'-Diphenyl sulfone can be prepared as follows: A suspension of 26.2 parts very finely divided 2, 5-diamino-4'-methyl-i, i'-diphenyl sulfone in 50 parts of water is at room temperature within 2 to 5 hours with 19.65 parts of p-tertiary butylbenzoyl chloride (Boiling point at -. Mm pressure: io7 to iog °) added dropwise. By simultaneous Adding an aqueous solution of sodium acetate becomes the resulting mineral acid neutralized. To end the acylation, the mixture is briefly heated to about 70 ° and then the water-insoluble 2-amino-5- (4'-tert-butylbenzoylamino) -4-methyl-i formed, i'-diphenyl sulfone was filtered off and dried. It forms a pale purple-gray Powder and has a melting point of igo to i92 °.
Nach dieser Methode wird bei. Verwendung von 2.4,8 Teilen 2, 5-Diamino-i, i'-dipltenylsulfon an Stelle von 26,2 Teilen 2, 5-Diamino-4.=methyli, i'-diphenylsulfon das 2-Amino-5-(4'-tertiärbutylbenzoylamino)-i, i'-diphenylsulfon, ein violettgraues Pulver vom Schmelzpunkt 187 bis igo°, erhalten.This method is used for. Use of 2.4,8 parts 2, 5-diamino-i, i'-dipltenylsulphone instead of 26.2 parts of 2, 5-diamino-4. = methyli, i'-diphenylsulphone the 2-amino-5- (4'-tert-butylbenzoylamino) -i, i'-diphenylsulfone, a purple-gray one Powder with a melting point of 187 to igo ° obtained.
