etwa 90% ausnutzen.Process for removing carbon dioxide from gases using lime
Addition to patent 869 043
In patent 869 043 there is a countercurrent process
for the removal of carbon dioxide from gases using lime moldings, in particular
with the help of lime balls. The gas to be cleaned is here
the lime used countered with such a high flow velocity,
that the main reaction already occurs in the upper part of the absorption device.
Due to this measure, the hydrated lime content of the lime moldings can be up to
utilize about 90%.
Surprisingly, it was also found that lime moldings,
those due to the main conversion taking place in the upper part of the absorption apparatus
are already thoroughly covered with a solid crust of calcium carbonate
by simply extending the rest time even further up to about 95 to 98%
Let their carbonic acid absorption capacity be used.
in Berührung. The extension of the gas contact time in the lower part of the absorption apparatus
can be achieved, for example, that the free cross section of the absorption device
is increased opposite to the gas flow direction. As particularly useful
a tower that is tapered towards the top has been found, to which the formed lime at the top
and the carbonated gases are supplied to grooves. The purified gas will
at the top,
tapered end of the tower removed while the consumed
Lime balls discharged at the widened lower end of the tower. The one in the course of the downward movement
more and more hardening lime balls come down constantly as a result of themselves
reducing gas velocity correspondingly longer time with Iden lime balls
in touch.
in Calciumcarbonate umgewandelt. In this way, the hydrated lime used is practically complete
converted into calcium carbonates.
In addition to enlarging the lower cross-section of the apparatus, the
Contact time between the lime moldings and the gas to be cleaned still thereby
be extended that a part of the gas approximately in the middle, the absorption tower
withdrawn and repeated together with Iden starting gas to be cleaned by Iden,
Absorption tower are guided.
The method may be based on the following exemplary embodiment
are explained in more detail.
Embodiment A tower of 5 m length was used for absorption,
the one at the lower end has a diameter of 1 m and the upper end has a diameter
of 50 cm. The gas to be freed from the carbonic acid was the tower at the bottom
