KLASSE 30: Gesundheitspflege.CLASS 30: Health Care.

MAX ARNOLD in CHEMNITZ. Silberverbandstoff. MAX ARNOLD in CHEMNITZ. Silver bandage.

Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom al. Januar 1896 ab.Patented in the German Empire by al. January 1896.

The present invention relates to a bandage material made of cotton, silk, linen, wadding and the like, which is sprinkled, coated, coated or soaked on the surface with metallic silver (impregnated) is. The silver can be in powder form, in the form of silver leaf, in In the form of a porridge mixed with a suitable liquid (e.g. water) or in the form a solution that precipitates the silver can be used. Such a bandage is produced by the material serving as a carrier for the metallic silver (also fabric, Gauze, paper, etc.) on a tenter frame -pulled and with a harmless adhesive, such as starch, dextrin, gum, protein, etc., is coated. For the one prepared in this way The metallic silver in the form of powder or pulp is then used on the fabric surface a brush, spatula or the like. Applied or laid on in the form of silver leaf. The fabric is then placed on a plate, placed in a drying room and dried. Then the fabric is cut into strips, placed between metal plates, with these between Rollers or Prefsplatten exposed to a strong pressure and thus the silver 'on firmly and permanently attached to the fabric.

The bandage material can also be soaked with metallic silver in such a way that Metal in the finest powder form rubbed into a pulp with one of the adhesives mentioned, the bandage material is dipped into the same and kneaded well with the pulp. Of the so interspersed with the silver pulp material is then z. B. by means of a wringer of freed from the excess of the silver pulp and dried.

Depending on the material chosen and the form of the metallic silver used, the two parts can be combined in a manner other than that described above. The choice of materials and the shape of the silver depends on the purposes for which the silver dressing is to serve. It is essential that metallic silver be affixed in some suitable form to the surface of a material suitable for some kind of wound treatment. In this way, a new keimtödtender dressing material is produced, which makes it possible to make the metallic silver for wound treatment available and ■ the same, the development of gaps fungi (bacteria, cocci) to prevent thereby f without irritating the animal tissue or whole organism harmful to be.

The bandages provided with metallic silver are made sterile (sterilized), e.g. B. exposed to water vapor at 105 ° C. for about a quarter of an hour, dried and sealed, and then remain unchanged and effective for years.
