Description
Dandy roll or cylinder mold and process for its manufacture For the coating of dandy roll or cylinder molds, the method has been chosen so far., that the cover is closed by a soldered or welded seam to the hose and then pulled up tightly onto the dandy roll or the cylinder. Putting on this already closed cover is a difficult job, which are not carried out by every company that uses dandy rolls or cylinder molds can be.
Another well-known process, especially in the case of coatings with embossed watermark is applied, is that the coating as an open Web of fabric wrapped around the dandy roll body or the screen cylinder and on the abutting edges is sewn together. This seam creates unavoidable impressions in the fabric to be made Paper out.
In a process for applying a coating with or without embossed watermark on a dandy roll or a cylinder mold is according to the invention the abutting edge of the as an open fabric web on the dandy roll or the cylinder applied and welded together by auxiliary devices or soldered. The difference compared to the previously known method is that that. soldering or welding together only for one coating applied which was torn up after the closure of the suture, while in application the invention made the soldered and welded seam on the dandy roll will.
When carrying out the invention, as is customary when sewing together, the web of fabric wrapped around the dandy roll or cylinder and secured by straps held. Then, instead of sewing together, welding or soldering together takes place. This makes the seam so unnoticeable that a mark on the paper is omitted.
The invention can be applied not only to such. Apply coatings, which have straight weft wires in the direction of attack, but also in such Fabrics in which the weft wire is strongly curved in the fabric web, unwanted or about in such a way a desired marking of a special kind in the paper to obtain. However, it is then advisable to weld the joint edges together the web of fabric does not follow the path of the weft wires, but. cut in a straight line. The pattern created by the curvature of the weft wires remains on the paper anyway to get the seam; but the welding together becomes essential made easier because the welding flame is only moved along a straight line. One becomes the holder for the burner. appropriately provided with such supports, which provide good support and guidance on the cylindrical dandy roll circumference or screen body enable. The application of the invention is completely independent of whether the coating is provided with watermarks or not, since the invention also applies to smooth Coatings. has the considerable advantage that the forceful and laborious winding up. the coating, which is always an extremely high mechanical stress of the coating means.
