The innovation relates to a watch, in particular a wristwatch with a watch case and a recess on the top of the case for recording the time to be determined.

Clocks can display the time either analogously or digitally. In an analogue design, a large and a small hand or corresponding elements that perform the same function are aligned like dots on markings in order to be able to read the time. In a digital display, the time is shown directly. In addition to telling the time, clocks can also perform various other functions. For example, it is known to provide clocks with interchangeable inserts or to integrate the display field into pictorial representations that are particularly subject to contemporary taste in order to create an additional decorative effect.

The aim of this innovation is to design a watch, in particular a wristwatch of the type mentioned above, in such a way that a visually appealing time display is achieved using structurally simple means.

The object is essentially achieved in that the recess is provided in a cover, under which a disk element that conveys the time is arranged so as to be rotatable, whereby a spiral-shaped structure that can be detected via the recess in the cutout is provided on the disk element.

From the structure, which preferably has the geometry of a revolution of an Archimedean spiral, a section passing through the recess is successively recorded from bottom to top or from top to bottom, corresponding to a time or a time interval, in accordance with the rotation of the disk element.

With other hoards, part of the structure can be seen from the top of the watch case via the preferably radial or triangular recess at different positions depending on the time. Consequently, with extremely simple construction means, namely the rotating disc element with the spiral-shaped structure arranged on it and the optionally rotating cover with recess, a time measuring instrument is provided that offers a type of analog-digital display as a unit.

The rotatable cover allows the watch to be used as a world clock. In order to be able to make a setting according to the time zone, appropriate aids such as markings on the stationary edge of the watch case can be provided.

In order to facilitate the time allocation of the detectable section of the spiral-shaped structuring, it is further provided that at least in an edge region of the recess there is a structuring associated with the spiral-shaped structuring of the rotatable disk element. Preferably, corresponding

In order to check the function of the watch, there can also be a rotating element that can be grasped from the top of the case, which has, for example, a radial geometric pattern. The rotatable disk element (22) is shown separately in Fig. 3. The disk element (22) has a spiral-shaped structuring (24), which preferably shows the geometry of one revolution of an Archimedean spiral. The structuring can be applied by printing, coloring, engraving or in any other suitable way. This structuring (24) now runs past the recess (20) with different sections, the position of the section in the cutout (22) corresponding to a certain time. In order to facilitate time recording, structuring or markings (26) or (28) corresponding to times are also present in the edge area of the recess (20).

As can be seen from the markings (26) and (28), the rotating element (22) runs clockwise. Of course, an opposite direction can also be selected. In this case, only the numbers assigned to the markings (26) and (28) would have to be arranged in opposite directions. Furthermore, the numbers symbolizing the structures (26) and (28) show that the spiral-shaped structure (24) actually has a single revolution on the disk (22), since the inner and outer numbers are identical.

In the center of the cover (18) there can be a further recess behind which another element (30) rotates faster than the disc element (22) in order to be able to easily check the functionality of the clock (10). The element (3G) can of course have an axis of rotation that runs coaxially to the axis of rotation of the disc element (22). This should preferably be the case.

Because the cover (18) can be rotated, the recess (20) can be assigned to the desired current positions of the structure (24), so that the current times can be set to different time zones on earth. To make this easier, appropriate markings can be provided on the stationary edge (32) of the watch case (12).
