Gripper for collecting and removing animal excrement

The invention relates to a gripper for picking up and removing animal excrement, as has become known from DE-GM 7R �Ogr;�Iacgr; according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

The well-known garbage and manure remover in gripper form consists of two half-shells that are joined together by a predetermined bend. Notches on each half-shell are intended to enable manual handling of the garbage and manure remover. The well-known garbage or manure remover is folded out above the nuisance to be removed, set down and then closed using manual closing force so that the end sections of the half-shells scrape along the ground. The closed garbage and manure remover is then placed in a plastic bag and disposed of in a suitable place.

Some significant disadvantages of the well-known rubbish and excrement remover arise when using it.

In particular, the end sections of each half-shell, which abut against one another when closed, make it difficult to cleanly and completely collect rubbish.

In addition , unfolding the half shells of the gripper is difficult because the operator's fingers slip out of the notches . Collecting and removing several pieces of rubbish and droppings spread over an area is therefore hardly possible manually.

Based on the previously described, known garbage and excrement remover in the form of a gripper, the object underlying the invention is to design a gripper consisting of two half-shells for collecting and removing animal excrement in such a way that the complete and clean removal of animal excrement is guaranteed and manual handling of the gripper is also easier and safer. In addition, the aim is to have a design that is as flat as possible.

This problem was solved according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The receiving sections, which are shaped like a blade according to the invention and slide over one another when closed, enable complete collection of rubbish and excrement. At the same time, the sliding over of the receiving sections ensures a secure closure.

In addition, according to the invention, each half-shell of the gripper has recessed grips designed as through holes, which are protected from the receiving space by a film-like, e.g. paper, shield on the inside of the gripper. This allows for significantly better manual handling in both the opening and closing directions of the gripper compared to the prior art, since it is possible to reach behind _each half-shell without the risk of soiling your fingers. In particular, when removing rubbish or excrement spread over a surface, where it is necessary to open and close the gripper several times, opening the gripper is made much easier by the possibility of reaching behind each half-shell.

Because, according to the invention, an opening is cut out on at least one half-shell wide side between the gripping recess and the receiving section, in conjunction with an inner lining, which can be designed as a bag, for example, one can speak of a flexibly expandable receiving space. On the one hand, this has the advantage that larger quantities of animal excrement can be received and, on the other hand, a flat design is still possible when not in use. Due to the flat design, it is conceivable that the empty gripper can be carried in a space-saving manner, for example in a coat pocket. Further features of the invention can be found in the subclaims.

In the drawings, the gripper for collecting and removing animal excrement is designated as a whole by the reference number 10.

The gripper (10) consists of two half-shells 11, which are connected to one another via a film hinge 12 - i.e. materially bonded. The pivoting movement of the half-shells 11 in the direction of the double arrows u is carried out manually by inserting the fingers into elongated oval through holes 13. a receiving space A is ensured by a paper shield 14 (inner lining) on the inside of the gripper, which is attached to the inside edge of both half-shells 11 - reaching to the front receiving areas 19 - and to the film hinge 12 via a circumferential adhesive seam 15.

A tongue 16, which is connected to each half-shell 11 via a different film hinge 17, cut out of the latter and is otherwise connected to the half-shells 11 by means of an inner lining area 18, serves to enlarge the receiving space A for animal excrement. The inner lining 14, made of paper for example, is designed in its area 18 in a somewhat bellows-like manner and is dimensioned in such a way that it can follow the movement of the extendable tongue 16 outwards, thus enlarging the receiving space.

The animal excrements are collected via the blade-like shaped collecting sections 19. In the closed state, the side sections 20 of the individual half-shells overlap and are releasably held together by means of the locking holes 21 and locking projections 22.

Fig. 2 shows the side view of a folded gripper 10 in the unfilled state I and in the filled state II. In the unfilled state I, an elastically resilient protective strip 23, which is attached to each receiving section 19, is clamped between the extendable tongue 16 and the two-part half-shell 11 at the point marked 25. When animal excrement is received in the receiving space A of the gripper 10, the extendable tongues 16 are pressed outwards. The elastically resilient protective strips 23 are released, stretch into their relaxed, straight position and overlap on the outside of the receiving sections 19 in such a way that no obstructions are caused by them.

In the filled state II, the tongues 16 with the bellows-like areas 18 attached to them are extended. At the same time, the receiving sections 19 are covered by the protective strips 23.

Deviating from the drawings, it is also possible to provide the gripper 10 on the one hand with a partial, e.g. paper, shield on the inside of the gripper to protect the access holes 13 and on the other hand with a partial flexible bellows-like inner lining 18 between the extendable tongue 16 and the half-shells 11. This design - just like the embodiment shown - enables the gripper 10 to be stacked in the unfolded state.

In the embodiment according to Fig. 2 it is particularly clear that the fold-bellow-like area 18 of the inner lining 14 is attached to the film hinge 12, to the extendable tongues 10 and in the area of the receiving sections 19 to the gripper 10. The inner lining 14 has the shape of a bag split on both of its long sides, the bottom of which is attached, e.g. glued, at 12 and the opening edges on the inside to the receiving sections 19. The free tongue edges are designated by 24.

According to the other embodiment not shown, it is possible to design the inner lining 14 completely in the shape of a bag with closed long sides and a bag opening arranged at 19. An over-width of the bag in the area 18 would also ensure a bellows-like expansion of the receiving space A. However, this embodiment does not allow a wide open state to achieve stackability.

Gripper according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that on the outside, laterally next to the receiving sections (19), a resilient paper or plastic protective strip (23) is releasably secured in a position bent back from the associated receiving section (19) on the associated half-shell (11) in such a way that both protective strips (23) in their released, relaxed and stretched position overlap each other and thereby cover both receiving sections (19). 13.
