The invention relates to a swing door with a plastic door leaf, in particular for industrial plants.

Swing doors of the usual type have door leaves made of transparent soft PVC that hang from a bracket made of aluminum or stainless steel profile. Such door leaves made of soft plastic tend to tear at the suspension points and are very quickly scratched during use under the constant impact loads, making them unsightly and, above all, their transparency suffers.

The object of the invention is to create a swing door which ensures greater fatigue strength, always maintains a clear transparency and is also less susceptible to impact loads.

Due to its inherent stability, such a door leaf does not require a metal gallows and can be directly screwed on instead of such a gallows according to subclaim 5 with self-closing, adjustable and double-sided spring hinges, whereby according to subclaim 6 the corresponding stop edge is advantageously reinforced.

The material of the door leaf ensures exceptionally high shock and impact resistance as well as good dimensional stability even when the door is opened by driving against it with vehicles, containers, etc. The full coloring of the plastic material not only produces a uniform colored surface, but even if the surface wears out due to long-term use, the uniform coloring is guaranteed. Scratches do not cause color damage.

The coloring can be chosen in accordance with the customer's wishes, whereby the color of the architectural interior design can also be taken into account, without the door leaf requiring a special surface color treatment.

The built-in transparent windows provide sufficient visibility to detect oncoming traffic. The use of acrylic glass ensures the necessary work safety.

Furthermore, the plastic used for the door leaf, namely polyethylene, is resistant to alkalis, fats, acids and cleaning agents, as well as to steam jets. It is also ideal for use in freezer rooms and in heat zones up to approx. 90° C.

Swing doors for industrial purposes are usually arranged in pairs opposite each other in a wall opening and can be pivoted individually or together around their vertical swing axis on the reveal of the wall opening. Usually, some kind of device or vehicle is driven against the door leaves, which then swing out of the way and close again automatically after driving through the wall opening.

According to the invention, the swing door 1 has a self-supporting, inherently stable door leaf 2 made of hard plastic, in the present case polyethylene, which preferably has a material thickness of 15 mm and has a material reinforcement 3 on the stop side, to which two spaced Self-closing, adjustable and double-sided spring hinges 4 are screwed directly onto the two overlapping points, with the help of which the door leaf 2 can be pivoted in the direction of the arrows 5. The door leaf is made of a fully colored plastic and therefore requires a transparent window 6, which allows sufficient visibility or overview to detect oncoming traffic and is integrated into the door leaf at an appropriate viewing height. The transparent window is made of acrylic glass and is preferably rubber-elastic frame 7 in the door leaf 2. The swing door according to the invention is suitable for single and double-leaf installation.

It is particularly suitable for hygienic requirements, as the material is particularly easy to clean.

Recycled plastic material can also be used as a material for the door leaves. This material contains, among other things, polyethylene, polyamide, phenol or melamine-formaldehyde resins, or similar thermosets, which significantly reduces material costs.
