The invention relates to a key chain with a lockable ring.

Key rings are available in a wide variety of designs. They are generally used to hold several keys together as a single key chain and are designed to be easy to handle and use while looking attractive.

The invention is based on the object of increasing the usability of such a key chain with a lockable ring.

an outer ring widening an annular gap with a channel that accommodates the inner ring with the eyelet.

The channel of the outer ring serves as a floating guide for the inner ring, so that both rings can be brought into a congruent position in such a way that the ring gap of one ring is aligned with the ring gap of the other ring. In this position, keys can be inserted in the appropriate number. By turning the inner ring relative to the outer ring, the ring gap of the outer ring can be closed, with the result that the key rings are permanently attached to the key chain.

Further features of the invention and special embodiments will become apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the drawings and the description.

The invention is described in more detail below using an embodiment example shown in the drawing.

A key ring 1 in the form of a lockable ring consists of an open inner ring 2 with an eyelet 3 and an outer ring 4 which is also open. To form an annular gap 5, the inner ring 2 has two free end pieces 6, 7 which end at a distance from one another and are approximately diametrically opposite the eyelet 3, and the open outer ring 4 is also provided with an annular gap 8 of the same size or width as the annular gap 5 in the inner ring 2.

The inner ring 2 is, as shown in Fig. 4, C-shaped or horseshoe-shaped due to the annular gap 5 and has flat end faces 9, 10. Furthermore, the inner ring 2 is provided with a locking projection 12 directed radially inwards from its inner contour 11, which is preferably located at the level of the eyelet 3 and should also be diametrically opposite the annular gap 5.

The outer ring 4 has a channel that accommodates or at least partially surrounds the inner ring 2. This channel 13 is directed radially outwards and serves as a holder and as a sliding support for the inner ring 2. The outer ring is U-shaped in cross-section due to the channel and has a distance of

To open the key chain 1, the inner ring 2 is pushed into the channel 13 of the outer ring 4 in such a way that the two ring gaps 5, β are in a congruent position.
Position as shown in Fig. 1. To loosen the key ring 1, the inner ring is then rotated relative to the ααιη-ring 4 until the locking projection 12 on the inner ring 2 engages in the ring gap β of the outer ring h and thereby secures the inner ring 2 relative to the outer ring 4.

With its free end pieces 6, 7, the inner ring 2 finally lies with a somewhat resilient preload in the channel 13 of the outer ring 4, so that a rotation of the inner ring 2 relative to the outer ring 4 against the frictional resistance of the end pieces 6, 7 at the bottom of the outer rings 4
The locking projection 12 aa inner ring 2 forms
a snap connection which can be opened with little resistance by elastic displacement of the free ends 16, 17 of the outer ring.
