Description

Material resistant in particular to alkaline melts Addition to patent 858376 The subject of patent 858 3 , 7 6 is a furnace lining which is particularly resistant to alkaline melts and which is essentially composed of oxides of alkaline earths, such as magnesium oxide or calcium oxide, or mixtures of the same and a protective coating of alkaline earth titanate.

In further processing of this area it has now been found that a material made from alkaline earth oxides and a protective coating, essentially made of alkaline earth titanate, is not only excellent as an oven lining, which is particularly resistant to alkaline melts, can be used, but can also be used to manufacture other equipment, such as crucibles, plates, pipes, and furnace stones and the like, excellently suited. To produce the desired equipment you can proceed in such a way that one of the devices formed from alkaline earth in the melt flow coated with a titanium compound. As already described in the main patent, is suitable Alkalitanat this. However, one can also use the devices initially with a titanium compound at ordinary temperature overlay, e.g. B. by immersion in titanium tetrachloride, with titanium dioxide being finely divided on the surface of the device Form, and then heat the device until it begins to melt: Of course you can also use the titanium compound in aqueous or organic, e.g. B. more alcoholic Apply the solution to the objects to be coated.
