Connected to one another by an angle piece, in the assembled state the wall elements hold the base plate. With such designs of drawers there is the disadvantage that different angle pieces are required for each wall height. A further disadvantage is that the locking device can only be installed when all four wall elements and the base plate have been assembled using the angle pieces. Installation cannot take place beforehand because the locking device not only passes through the front wall element, but also through the two front angle pieces. Finally, it is disadvantageous that the wall elements do not provide any guide for storage.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION 15

A drawer according to the invention has the following features: - A front wall element, a rear wall element and four side wall elements, which four wall elements each have an extruded aluminum profile rail with the same profile, which is divided in the vertical direction into at least the following areas: -- a connecting area and

-- a storage/lock area, with a profile section at right angles to the base plate, which is limited at its upper and lower ends by an outward-facing horizontal profile section,

-- four angle pieces, each of which connects two wall elements that meet in a drawer corner,

- a floor plate held by the wall elements and

- a locking device.

A drawer constructed in this way has the advantage over drawers that are already constructed from four wall elements, each with the same profile, that the wall element profile is designed in such a way that it allows for movable storage and at the same time easy assembly of at least the

locking device. These advantages are achieved by the fact that the bearing/locking area as specified above is present on each wall element. This area is open to the outside. From the outside, a ball bearing can therefore engage in the bearing/locking area, or a locking profile rail can be used to carry the locking device. The locking device does not penetrate any angle pieces or side wall elements, provided that the wall elements are mitred and assembled in this way, or that the front wall element is placed on the side wall elements from the front.

A further advantage is the separate connection

This can always be designed the same even for wall elements of different heights, so that only angle pieces of one type need to be kept in stock for drawers with different wall heights.

The existing connection area also offers other advantageous designs. Commercially available angle pieces can be used, such as those used to assemble aluminum window frames. For this purpose, the wall elements must be mitred and the connection area must be box-shaped, with a cross-section similar to that of commercially available profile rails for aluminum window frames. This eliminates the need to produce separate angle pieces, as was necessary for conventional drawers.

If the advantages described in the two previous paragraphs are combined, it is possible to assemble drawers with different wall heights using just one single commercially available angle piece.

The assembly of the wall elements using angle pieces according to an advantageous design opens up the possibility of

A ball bearing for supporting the drawer must be attached to the two side wall elements in the area where there is a rear angle piece. Each of these ball bearings runs in a rail fixed to the structure* The second guide for the drawer is provided by a ball bearing fixed to the structure, which, as described above, engages in the bearing/lock area.

Because the vertical profile section of the bearing/lock area is limited at the top and bottom by a horizontal profile section, the drawer is guided particularly well by the ball bearing, which engages in the entire area mentioned. It is also possible to turn the drawer over so that the bottom is on top and the drawer can therefore be used as a platform. In this case, the horizontal profile section of the drawer under the ball bearing rests on the ball bearing.

For all types of drawers with side wall elements with a storage area, regardless of whether the drawers also have another of the above-mentioned features, it is advantageous to use a cast, i.e. one-piece, storage/lock piece that is attached to the vehicle body. This component carries a bearing bolt *for attaching the ball bearing that engages in the adjacent storage area on a drawer, and it has a latch engagement recess into which the latch of the locking device attached to the front wall element engages. The fact that the said component has a dual function makes it easier to assemble than would be the case for two separate components. In addition, the dual function component is more stable than two separate, smaller components.

Another advantageous design of a drawer has extruded wall elements with a molded-on label rail. With regard to this feature, it is also irrelevant how a drawer is otherwise constructed, i.e. whether it is otherwise conventional or has a structure with a

of the above features. The molded label rail makes it possible to label the drawer simply by inserting information labels into the label rail. These can be covered by an inserted plate made of a transparent material. It is no longer necessary to screw on labels. This also makes it very easy to change the labels if the contents of the drawer are changed.

WAYS TO CARRY OUT THE INVENTION

The drawer 10 according to Fig. 1 has a front wall element 11, a rear wall element 12, two side wall elements 13, four identical angle pieces 14, a base plate 15 and a lock profile rail 16 with a locking device, of which a lock 17, a handle 18 and two latches 19 projecting laterally beyond the rail 16 can be seen. 15

The four wall elements 11, 12 and 13 are mitred and in the assembled state of the drawer

10 they are held together by the angle pieces 14 using adhesive connections and/or rivet or screw connections. The assembled wall elements 11, 12 and 13 hold the base plate 15, which is explained in more detail below using Fig. 2. The shooting profile rail 16 is held to the front wall element 11 by means of two screws 2, which is also shown in more detail in Fig. 2.

its lower end is limited by a lower horizontal profile section 26. The two horizontal profile sections 25 and 26 point outwards. The connecting area 22 is box-shaped, i.e. has a rectangular cross-section. The outer vertical wall 27 of the connecting area is overhung along its upper and lower edges by a web with a nose, whereby a lower sign groove 28 and an upper sign groove 29 are formed. An inserted sign 30 engages in these grooves 28 and 29. In order to slit the sign 30 to prevent damage, it may be expedient, depending on the material used, to cover the sign 30 with a cover plate made of transparent material.

The lock profile rail 16, also shown in section in Fig. 2, is U-shaped. Fastening grooves 31 run close to the free ends of the rail's legs. Fastening pieces 32 are inserted into these fastening grooves 31 at the locations of the fastening screws ":0 (see Fig. 1). The lock profile rail 16 is firmly connected to the front wall element 11 using the screws 20 and the fastening pieces 32. Inside, the lock profile rail 16 carries a conventional locking device 33, which is shown in cross section according to Fig. 2 by a dot-dash line.

Due to the described design of the wall elements and their assembly in mitred corners, the Schioßprofi1 rail 16 can extend over the entire width of the drawer 10 without causing a collision in the connection area with the side wall elements 13. The Schioßprofi 1 rail 16 can therefore be equipped with the complete locking device 33 before it is mounted on the drawer. It is only connected to the

The bearing 34 rests against these two sections 25 and 26 so that the drawer 11 is safely guided. The front ball bearing 34 is connected via a bearing bolt 35, which carries locking washers 36, to a vehicle body 37, which is indicated by hatching in Figs. 4 and 5.

39, which is screwed into an angle piece 14 in the rear area of the side wall element 13. The wall element bolt 39 carries two locking washers 36 to prevent lateral displacement of the rear ball bearing 38.

The rear ball bearing 38 runs in a C-rail 40 which is firmly connected to the vehicle body 37, as is also shown in Figures 4a and 4b. This C-rail 40 runs slightly diagonally from the bottom rear to the top front. Near its front end , the C-rail 40 carries a rubber stop 41.

If the drawer 10 is opened by a force acting on the handle 18,

As a result, the drawer 10 tilts increasingly forwards the further it is pulled out.

The guide rail 34 runs between the upper horizontal profile section 25 and the lower horizontal profile section 26, which ensures that the drawer is guided safely both when it is pulled out and when it is pushed back in again* ti 6

If the drawer 10 is used as a platform, i.e. with a base plate 15 on top, a horizontally running C-rail is preferably used _so that a horizontal work surface is available after the platform is pulled out. |

In the wall elements 11, 12 and 13 according to Fig. 1, the bearing/locking area 21 is at the bottom (adjacent to the base plate groove 23) and the connecting area 22 forms the upper area of the wall element. In the embodiment according to Fig. 5, this is exactly the opposite. Another difference is that the vertical profile section 24 has two relatively closely adjacent vertical walls 42, which leads to stiffening compared to the embodiment according to Fig. 3. In the embodiment according to Fig. 6, there are three areas, namely a bearing/locking area 21, which is again arranged at the bottom, an upper connecting area 22 and an intermediate area 43 in between. The vertical profile section 24 has only one wall.

These variations of the wall element profiles are intended to show that it is only important that at least one connection area and one bearing/lock area are present, the latter having a vertical profile section delimited by an upper horizontal and a lower horizontal profile section for guiding a ball bearing.

It is of great advantage to design the connecting area with the same cross-section even for drawers 10 with different wall heights, so that angle pieces 14 of the same dimensions can always be used for all types of drawers. It is also advisable to always use the same design of the

Storage/lock area so that the same type of front ball bearing 34 and the same type of lock profile rail 16 can always be used. In order to ensure these advantages, the intermediate area 43 is present on the wall element according to Fig. 6, through which the wall height is increased without this having an influence on the design of the storage/lock area 21 and the connecting area 22.

The connection described in Fig. i using fermentation cuts in the corners and the separate construction of a connection area 22 makes it possible to use angle pieces 14 that are available cheaply in a light and stable design for assembling commercially available aluminum profile rails. Such angle pieces have, for example, a height of 45 mm, a thickness of 12.5 mm and an outer leg length of 60 mm.

As explained above, a drawer 10 is to be supported near its front end by means of a front ball bearing 34, which is fixedly arranged in a vehicle body 37. At the front end of the drawer 10, it is also necessary to ensure that the latches 19 engage with the vehicle body 37. The two functions mentioned have previously been implemented using different components. Figures 7a and 7b show a cast, one-piece bearing/lock piece 44. This has the bearing bolt 35 already described above and a latch engagement recess 45. The bearing/lock piece 44 is connected to the vehicle body 37 by means of two fastening holes 46 using connecting screws 47 and a support piece 48. The cast bearing/lock piece 44 ensures the easiest honing and at the same time the highest level of strength.
