Photo insert for photo albums

The innovation concerns a photo insert for photo albums, with a carrier film and holding parts that partially cover the photos in the edge area.

There are photo albums designed especially for storing Polaroid photographs, which consist of sheets, are made of multiple foil pockets or consist of connected foil pockets into which the photographs are inserted. Apart from the fact that these photo albums contain a lot of foil material, it is considered a disadvantage that the pictures are covered by foil material and that even with transparent foil material, reflections can occur through the foil, which interfere with viewing the inserted photos.

There are also postcard albums in which the album pages have diagonal cuts into which the corners of the postcards are inserted to anchor them. These insert pages have the disadvantage that they can only be filled with postcards or photographs on one side and the corners on the back

sections of the inserted photographs. In addition, this type of anchoring has proven to be insufficient. If the insert pages are turned over too quickly or if these pages are bent, there is a risk that the postcards or photographs will jump out of the corner holders.

The innovation is based on the task of designing a photo insert for photo albums of the type mentioned in such a way that the inserted photographs are held securely and cannot shift while the image surface is exposed.

The stated task is solved according to the innovation in that the holding parts are designed in the form of at least two transparent film clamping strips that run parallel to one another and are attached to the carrier film, which cover the photos along two opposite photo edges and hold them against the carrier film.

In a photo insert designed in accordance with the new technology, the photos are covered over their entire length by two parallel edges and held against the carrier film, whereby the image area of the photos is not covered by the strip-shaped holding parts, but the photos are held securely and in a way that prevents them from shifting. Even if the carrier film is bent, the photos remain held against the carrier film by the film clamping strips and cannot jump out. This applies in particular to inserts in which the film clamping strips run across and cover the upper and lower

Cover the edge of the photos. When turning the insert sheets, bends may occur around axes running transversely to the film clamping strips.

The film clamping strips can be divided into individual clamping sections at intervals by fastening seams running transversely to their length, the length of which is adapted to the standard width of photos. The film clamping strips can be attached to both sides of a carrier film and can sometimes be designed as double clamping strips that are attached to the carrier film along their center line. Plastic films are advantageously used as carrier films, to which the film clamping strips, which are also made of plastic, are attached by means of welded seams. The clamping strips and the carrier film can also be made of the same film material.

An example of a photo insert sheet designed in accordance with the innovation is described in more detail below with reference to the attached drawing.
