Salt bath ovens For salt bath ovens it is known to use metallic crucibles
on the wall of which the counter-electrodes are attached. With these well-known
Salt bath ovens in particular become a large and freely accessible treatment room for
achieved the good. In addition, these salt bath stoves also have electrical advantages.
An
The invention relates to a further advantageous embodiment of such
Salt bath furnaces that use metallic crucibles, and that is
Novelty of the invention is that the possibility of influencing the flow of current
is provided between the crucible wall and the electrode arranged immediately in front of it.
In this way, the advantage is obtained that the between the individual electrodes
Even out flowing current and eliminate asymmetries in current loads in the bathroom
can. On the other hand, you can also use the electricity particularly advantageously
influence the way that it permeates the bath in such a way that a particularly good one
Bath circulation is achieved. Also in the arrangement according to the invention, the
Electrodes may be moved closer to the crucible wall without
too high a current density in the one between the electrode and the crucible wall
Molten salt occurs, and moreover, by the proposal according to the invention
completely new electrode arrangements in salt bath furnaces with conductive crucibles possible.
At
The invention is to be explained in more detail using various exemplary embodiments.
For example, Figures 1 and 2 show a salt bath furnace in elevation and plan, with its crucible
i and its electrodes 2 to 5 on the periphery of a hollow cylinder
are arranged. Of the electrodes 2 to 5, electrodes 2 to 4 are three in number
Phases of the three-phase network connected, while the electrode 5 to the same
Phase how the electrode 4 is connected. With 6 are between the electrode and the crucible wall
arranged insulating parts, which force the current as far as possible. ' by
the melt inside the crucible to flow. As a result of not
a very even current load within the bath is a circulation of the melt
evoked. However, since it also has advantages to reduce the current in the middle of the bath
and to let it flow between the electrode and the crucible wall, according to the
Invention, the insulating parts 6 made of highly heat-resistant material, for example
can be removed from quartz or sintered corundum. The handwheel 7 is provided for this purpose,
by which the rack io are actuated via the bevel gears 8 and the pinion g
can, which is firmly connected to the insulating body 6 via part i i. The gear
1a serves to put the rod in its highest position, not shown
To give hold .. In the exemplary embodiment, only the device is for removal
of the insulating part 6 provided in front of the electrode 3. The remaining insulating parts
can be provided with the same devices; but they can also be provided with a
Ring part be connected to each other, so that only when turning a single
Handwheel 7 all insulating parts are lifted from the bath.
In
dem dort wieder in Draufsicht gezeichneten Tiegel i sind drei Elektroden 13 -nebeneinanderliegend
angeordnet.
Darstellung in Fig. 5 abgebildet.
Darstellung wiedergegeben.Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention. In
the crucible i shown there again in a top view are three electrodes 13 lying next to one another
arranged. In addition, a shielding body 14 is provided there, which is also made of
Insulating material, for example made of sintered corundum, consists. Would be this shielding body
does not exist, it would be due to the tbesorzderen arrangement of the electrodes
13 a particularly strong electric field between the crucible wall and electrodes
train that by the inventive arrangement of the shielding plate 14, prevented
will. The electrodes 16 provided in the crucible 15 of FIG
be arranged much closer to the wall of the crucible 5 that between the
an insulating body 17 is provided for the electrode initially opposite the wall
is. The embedding of the electrodes in the insulating body is shown in perspective
Representation shown in Fig. 5. Instead of embedding the electrodes in insulators,
Insulation coatings can also be applied to the metallic surface facing the wall
be provided. The wall of the crucible facing the electrodes can also be used
be provided with a corresponding coating of insulating material. One with a cover
An electrode made of insulating material is shown in perspective, for example, in FIG. 6
Representation reproduced.
It should also be mentioned that in a salt bath furnace according to FIG. 2 at in
the molten mass of inset Tsolierpiatte 6 due to the large size through the central space
the current flowing in the bath, there is a risk that the hardening material to be introduced
especially corners or edges projecting close to the electrodes burns. Around
To avoid this risk, according to the invention, the good in a special for this
provided metal box, cage or basket let into the bathroom, in particular
has metal surfaces at the points opposite the electrodes, of which
the current passes to the electrodes. Under certain circumstances, it may be useful to
the distance between the metal surfaces of the cage and the electrodes becomes smaller
when it is between the electrode and the crucible wall.
-The salt bath furnaces according to the invention can also be used with advantage
Operated way; that-with introduced insulating parts when inserting a
cold workpiece, the current is initially forced to flow through it
heat it up in the process. However, once the heating has taken place, it is in many cases
not expedient to let the current flow through the workpiece to avoid overheating
of the workpiece or burns at the corners and edges. The insulating panels
are therefore pulled out again after the workpiece has been heated, so that
the main thing is that the current flows between the electrode and the wall of the crucible. Is the
insulating coating attached to the electrodes, so can in the event that one
wants to work with non-insulated electrodes that have been provided with your insulating coating
Electrodes are removed and those without an insulating coating are used.
