The invention relates to a piece of jewelry, in particular a breastplate, pendant, necklace for the neck, arm or foot, belt, earring and medallion, consisting of fine ceramics provided with a glaze, which are shaped accordingly and into which holes are inserted for a hanging and connecting cord or the like.
The human need to adorn their body and clothing with jewelry has been present in all times and among all peoples. This jewelry can take on a variety of forms, and in the form of clasps, belts, chains, or similar, they usually also have a secondary purpose, such as holding certain pieces of clothing together. Such jewelry is made from a variety of materials and is often combined with precious stones or similar. Popular materials are gold, silver, or steel, although clay or ceramic, unpainted or painted, are also used to make jewelry. To give the jewelry an attractive shine, these objects are glazed. This is a glass-like coating that not only gives the ceramic part a shine, but also prevents liquids from penetrating porous materials. A wide variety of glazes are known, with overglaze or underglaze colors being used to add color. For special ceramic products such as vases, plates and the like, it is known to mix overglaze colors with strong drilling acid or lead-containing glass fluxes and then fire them at around 700 - 800 0 C. Platinum is used to produce gray colors, while gold is used for purple tones. Jewelry items, on the other hand, are made from pure gold or corresponding alloys.

The present invention is based on the object of creating pieces of jewelry with a stable gold surface and a supporting structure that ensures the utility value.
The problem is solved according to the invention in that the modeled surface of the fired fine ceramic has a layer of a fired glaze-gold mixture.
Such a piece of jewelry has a stable supporting structure, which consists of fine ceramics stabilized by the firing process and which is refined by applying a gold coating. This gold coating is then integrated and protected against damage by being fired into the glaze. A lasting high utility value is thus achieved. At the same time, the layer also has a stabilizing and securing function for the supporting structure made of fine ceramics.
Aufbringung vorteilhaft verbessert.According to an expedient embodiment of the invention, the layer consists of a glaze that fills the pores of the fine ceramic and the glaze-gold mixture that is placed on top of it. The gold or the gold coating is advantageously embedded in this way and retains its advantageous effect by preventing it from penetrating the pores of the fine ceramic support structure. In addition, the effect of the gold is advantageously improved by this type of embedding or application.

In order to give the piece of jewelry an appearance that particularly enhances its intended use as a piece of jewelry, the surface has uneven and flat surfaces. The uneven surfaces have a completely different effect than the flat surfaces due to the gold coating, because the light is refracted or reflected in a significantly different way in these uneven areas than on the smooth surfaces and because the gold coating is distributed advantageously in these uneven areas due to the glaze applied beforehand. It is advantageous if the flat surfaces are separated from one another by small stone impressions or uneven surfaces, or if the uneven surfaces are separated from one another by flat surfaces. This provides a multitude of variants that influence the impression of the piece of jewelry and thus significantly increase its intended use as such.
According to the present invention, the uneven partial surfaces are formed by small, closely spaced impressions and the corresponding bulges. The formation of the bulges can be influenced depending on the overall impression that is to be created. This is achieved by using more or less hard ceramic material in the modeling.
Der Charakter des Goldes wird dabeiA process is used to make jewelry, especially breastplates, pendants, chains for the arm, neck and foot, belts, earrings and medallions, in which the jewelry is formed from fine ceramics, fired, then glazed and fired again, with overglaze color being applied to the glaze and then fired in. Es erweckt letztlich den Eindruck, als ob das gesamtecisnn the fine ceramic is fired again at 600 - 750°. Using this process, a piece of jewelry is obtained that surprisingly has a particularly noble effect and that can be used for a variety of purposes due to the stable support structure. It ultimately creates the impression that the entire

By modelling fine ceramics, the artist is able to develop his imagination quite generously, because he has many more design options with the fine ceramic material, which is easier to work with, than with pure gold, which can be handled using moulds or similar.
Gerade die Beschichtung der unebenen Teilflächen erbringt die vorteilhafte Gesamtwirkung, wobei die hell verbleibenden unbehandelten Teilflächen zusammen mit den mit Gold beschichteten unebenen TeilflächenAccording to a modification of the present invention, the partial areas provided with micro-stone impressions are coated with gold, which is then fired into the glaze, while the remaining partial areas remain untreated. In order to ensure that the gold is not affected by the firing process or to prevent any adverse changes, the fine ceramics are fired in a muffle furnace at 900 - 950 0 C after modelling, then glazed and fired a second time, this time at 1,200 - 1,400 0 C and then further treated with gold, i.e. after the gold coating, they are fired again at 600 - 750 0 C. The weight of the fine ceramics is reduced by the special treatment method, while at the same time a very stable support structure is created, which, thanks to the glaze treatment, is suitable for practically integrating the gold into the support structure. Despite the thinnest coating, the piece of jewellery thus acquires the desired noble character.
The processing of the gold is advantageously even if the gold is applied to the fine ceramic while it is still hot. In addition, the subsequent firing process is shortened in time and the firing of the gold is made more uniform. According to a further practical development of the invention, the overglaze firing process should be carried out in such a way that only the upper layer of the glaze absorbs and embeds the gold. A pure glaze layer thus remains under the upper layer that absorbs the gold, so that the embedded gold can produce a wide variety of effects depending on the thickness of the applied gold layer.
Alle anderen Behandlungsmethoden derIt has already been mentioned several times above that the small stone impressions in the initial support structure, i.e. in the fine ceramics, give the gold that is subsequently applied a special effect or a special statement. For this reason, the invention provides that the fine ceramics are modelled by applying small stone impressions. All other treatment methods of the

Fine ceramics can be omitted or combined with the small stone impressions as desired, depending on what type of jewelry is to be made. Another variation option is created by inserting small stone impressions into the fine ceramics and drilling holes in a variety of places. The through holes can also have a beneficial effect on the shape and effect of the jewelry.
The intended use is further influenced by the fact that the surface is modeled, the underside and the sides remain untreated, but the entire fine ceramic is otherwise treated evenly with gold coating and firing. The gold is thus applied as a uniform layer on the underside of the piece of clothing or the body, while the surface that influences the impression of the piece of jewelry is modeled accordingly. The consistent subsequent further treatment in the firing process ensures that the gold coating is integrated everywhere, so that the support structure made of fine ceramic can fully develop its effect.
Vorteilhaft ist weiter, daß die Herstellungskosten eines solchen, sehr wertvollen Schmuckstückes in Grenzen gehalten werden können, flicht zu vergessen ist darüber hinaus, daß dem Künstler hierThe invention is particularly characterized by the fact that a piece of jewelry has been created that is characterized by high utility value, that has a special meaning and a noble overall impression due to the integrated gold, and that can be used for a wide variety of purposes due to the stable support structure despite the thinnest gold coating. Another advantage is that the production costs of such a very valuable piece of jewelry can be kept within limits, but it should also be forgotten that the artist here
There are opportunities to realize an immense variety of designs.
