Description
Electrical waveguide, in particular outer conductor for coaxial high-frequency lines Addition to patent 850 631 The patent 85o 631 relates to an electrical waveguide particularly suitable as an outer conductor for coaxial high-frequency lines, which consists of one or more bands formed into a tube by essentially cylindrical arching, - the longitudinal edges of which are slid loosely over one another. In this case, security against being pushed too far on top of one another and thus the retention of a certain conductor diameter is achieved by means of guide pieces which are provided on one edge of the tape and on or under which the other edge of the tape slides. These guide pieces also have the task of making the waveguide self-supporting, which is especially important when it is used as an outer conductor for a coaxial high-frequency line which must keep a uniform distance from the inner conductor. As is well known, spacers in the form of thin disks made of insulating material are arranged on the inner conductor, but these normally have no contact with the outer conductor and should only influence the shape of the outer conductor if, as a result of bending or influencing the cable from the outside, major deformations of the generally very thin copper sheet existing outer conductor. It is essential that the guide pieces influence the diameter of the conductor and in particular its cylindrical shape as little as possible. This is reflected in the embodiment according to the invention additive into account by the present invention, the guide pieces as in -ständen same Ab are formed from the edge in the band depressed cams. In the simplest case, these cams can be small, hemispherical, arched indentations on the belt, which are located at greater distances from one another in a cam grater running parallel to the edge of the belt. Since the electrical waveguide immediately after its tubular shape with a fixing tape, z. B. iron tape is wrapped, such Nock .enanschlag a sufficient backup against the too far overlay ben the tape edges and thus ensure the required uniform diameter of the waveguide.
According to the invention, the cams can also be shaped by the fact that the tape before its deformation parallel and at a short distance from its tape edge running incisions and then the edge of the incision facing away from the edge of the incision be depressed by the required amount. Due to this pushed out of the band level Interfaces, the stop point for the engaging tape edge is more precisely defined than with only spherical indentations, so that a completely constant circumference of the outer conductor is secured.
The invention is based on the embodiments shown in the drawing explained in more detail.
Fig. -i und 2 zeigen einen Längsschnitt und einen Ouerschnitt durch eine koaxiale Hochfrequenzleitung, während Fig. 3, d. und 5 verschiedene Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten an einem Bandstreifen zeigen, der zur Herstellung des Hohlleiters verwendet werden soll.FIGS. 1 and 2 show a longitudinal section and a cross section through a coaxial radio frequency line, while Fig. 3, i. and 5 different training options show on a strip of tape used to manufacture the waveguide target.
According to Fig.! I and 2 are on the inner conductor i at regular intervals a washer a made of insulating material attached, not as a carrier, but only serve as spacers for the cylindrical outer liner 3. The outer conductor 3 is made from the bands shown in Figs. 3 to 5, e.g. B. thin copper hands, by machine via a mandrel or the like to the tubular conductor of cylindrical cross section arched so that the two band edges overlap somewhat as shown in FIG. Included are cams on the inside of the outside edge of the tape. provided against the the inner band edge comes to rest. The outer conductor then becomes retrospectively wrapped with a tether. In order to push over the cams 4 with certainty to prevent. its height must be at least the difference between the inner diameter dl and the diameter (l_ of the insulating disks 2 correspond. The cams can in the simplest case, according to FIG. 3, hemispherical indentations into the strip edge be, which can be carried out by means of a corresponding mandrel. To the bending stiffness of the tubular conductor, which is relatively is great to prevent are between each cam q. short cuts 5 made in the tape edge, the length of which does not exceed the overlap width if possible should.
In the case of the band according to FIG. are initially short in the left edge of the tape Incisions of length c have been made afterwards or in the same operation the right edge of these incisions is pressed down by a thorn or the like, so that there are notches with smooth edges against which the other one The tape edge is applied after the arching. In order to allow the edges of the tape to slide into one another, in particular with the construction of the cylindrical conductor from several strips, to be excluded with certainty, it may be advisable under certain circumstances, as shown in FIG. 5, on the opposite side of the cams Provide sharp teeth on the band side, which when arching the band in the corresponding penetrate cam-like notches. Then the waveguide retains its self-supporting Shape if it is used without an inner conductor with the spacer washers 2 according to FIG shall be.
