Description
A process for the production of aluminum sheaths for electrical cables, it is known to produce metal sheaths for electrical cables of a longitudinally extending, tubular overall bent band and the weld radially outwardly bent-over side edges with each other. In this case, the shaping of the jacket from the strip and the seam welding are expediently carried out in one operation using a continuous process. In this manufacturing process, it must be prevented as far as possible that residues of welding material and liquid metal at the weld point penetrate the inside of the not yet welded sewing, as this can lead to damage to the conductor insulation.
The invention relates to a method for producing aluminum jackets for, electrical cables made of a lengthwise, tubular bent strip, the side edges of which are bent radially outwards and in the same operation using the pull-through process are welded together. The method according to the invention is characterized by special means and measures to determine the mutual position of the webs applied in the radial direction and by others at or near the weld Means and measures for firmly pressing the webs against one another in the tangential direction. In this way, the seam remaining between the radial webs is prevented from penetrating sealed by welding agent residues and liquid aluminum in the interior of the jacket.
In gleicher bzw. To determine the mutual position of the bars in the radial direction, the bars are advantageous with interlocking indentations provided, for example with spaced punctiform indentations, the sworn webs penetrate. Instead of punctiform indentations, parallel To the longitudinal edges of the webs extending groove-like indentations occur. Further the webs can be fixed in the radial direction by two pressure rollers, whose profile is adapted to the aluminum jacket and that against the aluminum jacket Press perpendicular to the bridge surfaces. Executed in the same or similar manner Profiled pressure rollers can be arranged on or in the vicinity of the welding point are used to press the bars against each other and to seal the seam.
The method according to the invention is described below with reference to the in -the figures shown in more detail: explained.
According to FIG. I, the smooth or somewhat preformed aluminum strip is io pre-bent by the device i i so far that @es an approximately half-shell-shaped Takes shape. The band io formed in this way and the cable core 12 run simultaneously into the device 13, in which the band i o is bent in a tubular shape around the cable core will. By means of the device 13 or also by means of an additional one in front of the device 13 arranged tool, the side edges are bent radially outwards, so that the radial webs 14 arise (Fig.2). The sheathed cable runs between ! the embossing rollers 15 and 16 through which on their circumference at regular intervals the recesses 17 and the projections i 8 have. This - earths in the radial webs at intervals the indentations ig pressed in (Fig. 2), so that the radial webs can move mutually neither in the radial direction nor in the longitudinal direction. The superfluous material of the radial webs is then removed by means of the cutting rollers 20 removed. This proposal is particularly illustrated in FIG. 2, after which the superfluous material of the radial webs is removed from the point 21. on in this way the weld seam is prepared for welding. To manufacture the The profile rollers 17 and 18 can be combined into a single roll with the following cutting roll. For the sealing of the radial webs, the on is advantageous. known arc welding applied. The rotating carbon electrode 22 and the counter electrode are used for this purpose 23. Instead of the rotating electrode 22, a rod electrode can also be used in a known manner step. The electrode 22 is spaced from the radial webs 14 at such a distance. adjusted so that the desired arc is created. To avoid that while welding residues or liquid aluminum through the not yet If the welded seam penetrates inwards, the two radial webs 1.1 are fixed against each other; pressed. For this purpose, in the example shown, the Pressure roller pairs 2 ¢ and 25 are provided. The profile of these pressure rollers becomes the aluminum jacket customized. Instead of two pairs of pressure rollers, a single pair of pressure rollers can also be used step, expediently at the point or in the immediate vicinity of the welding electrode 22. Will be arranged. A smoothing undercoat can be used after the weld Seam can be made, e.g. B. by milling or grinding. In the example shown the pressure roller 26 with the counter roller 27 is provided for this purpose. To a flawless To ensure welding of the Radi.alst@ege, the facing towards each other Surfaces of the radial webs existing oxide layers or other impurities removed before welding, e.g. B. by scratching, grinding, brushing. etc. this Cleaning is advantageous before the tape io enters the device i or i made shortly after exit of the shaped shell from the device 13.
According to Fig. 3, the radial pieces of the aluminum jacket are cut through in the radial webs indented grooves 28 in the radial direction set. The profile rollers serve to press in the groove-like indentations 28 29 and 30, the profile of which can be seen from the figure. The Fig. ¢ shows the cable in cross-section after removing the superfluous edges, i.e. in the state shortly before the weld. 5 shows the cross-sectional profile of the aluminum jacket after welding and from FIG. 6 the profile of the aluminum jacket after: the additionally made smoothing of the welding point. The groove-like indentations 28 in the radial webs can also be used in the aluminum band can be pressed in. It must then be used when bending the aluminum strip to the coat, care must be taken that the groove-like indentations with each other come into engagement.
Über dem Aluminiummantel folgen die an sich bekannten Bewehrungsschutzschichten 35.7 shows a Sta.rkstromlkabel produced according to the invention. The cable core is labeled 31. Around the heat-sensitive cable core during welding To protect against harmful warming, the cable core has a special one Heat-insensitive tape winding 32 surrounded, which is preferably made of its heavy melting metal. 33 is the aluminum jacket produced according to the invention with the weld 3 ¢ running in the longitudinal direction. Follow over the aluminum jacket the reinforcement protective layers 35 known per se.
The method and apparatus can in one way or another can be changed without departing from the essence of the invention. For example, can the radial webs are corrugated or grooved to their mutual position in radial Set direction. Furthermore, to fix the radial webs in the radial direction .also pressure roller pairs with profiled pressure rollers similar to the pressure roller pairs 24 and 25, which are then arranged closely behind the device 13 and move the embossing rollers 15 and 16. Instead of the electric - arc torch Other welding processes can also be used, for example the Gas welding. The invention can also be used accordingly for the production of aluminum outer conductors of coaxial high-frequency cables.
