Light-sensitive colloid layers for the production of tanning images
The use of aromatic azides as photosensitive compounds in the
Production of tanning images is known. It has now been found that such
Azides which contain several azido groups in the molecule for the mentioned purpose
are particularly suitable. Compared to the so far primarily proposed azidosalicylic acid
they are particularly characterized by their better tanning ability. It is advantageous to
when the azides are of higher molecular weight.
Gerbeffekten Gebrauch macht, anwenden. The azides used according to the invention are advantageously prepared
by diazotization of the corresponding amines and reaction of the compounds obtained
with sodium azide. The azides can be used together with a wide variety of natural or
synthetic, especially water-soluble colloids on one of the intended use
adapted base can be applied. The materials thus obtained can be
for all methods of photography or reproduction technology, in which one of
Makes use of tanning effects.
The photosensitive layers of the invention can be conventional ones

Carry out pretreatment with diluted acid or to achieve good adhesion

Beispiele i. Mit einer Lösung von
7 g Gelatine und o,6 g
4, 4'- diazidodiphenyl - 3, 3'- disulfosaurem
The use of certain diazido compounds for the production of tanning images has already been proposed in the patent 752 852. Azidostyrylarylazides and azidostyrylazidoaryl ketones have been named there. The use of these compounds is excluded in the present invention. Examples i. With a solution of 7 g of gelatin and 0.6 g of 4, 4'-diazidodiphenyl - 3, 3'-disulfonic acid sodium, prepared from the corresponding benzidinedisulfonic acid by diazotization, reaction with sodium azide and salting out of the reaction solution, in 16o ccm of water is a Coated glass plate. After this glass plate has been exposed to light under a black-and-white original and stained with pure diamine blue, a blue image of the original can be obtained by developing with water. Instead of the 4, 4'-diazidodiphenyl-3, 3'-disulfonic acid sodium, 4, 4'-diazidodinaphthylmethane-3, 3'-disulfonic acid sodium, which is produced in the usual way by reaction of the tetrazo compound from 4, 4 ' -Diaminodinaphthylmethane-3, 3'-disulfonic acid was obtained with sodium azide, and the 4, 4'-diazidobe) zophenonsulfonic acid sodium can be applied. The latter compound is formed by sulfating the 4,4'-diaminobenzophenone with 2o0 /, oleum until it is water-soluble, then tetrazotizing and reacting the tetrazo compound with sodium azide. Both diazido compounds can be deposited after the reaction with sodium azide by salting out with common salt.
An emulsion of 4 g of highly viscous polymeric vinylpyrrolidone, 1 9 1, 5-diazidonaphthalin-3, 7-disulfosaurem sodium and ioo cc of water is applied to a pretreated in a conventional manner zinc plate with the aid of a centrifugal apparatus. The dried material is exposed under a positive and developed with water, the unexposed areas of the layer being removed. In order to better follow the development process, one can stain with a suitable dye. After drying, a printing form for planographic printing is produced in the usual way by applying varnish and greasy paint and then removing the coating.
