Description
Process for the recovery of the residues from pressure hydrogenation Heat contained by coals With the help of the known heat exchangers it is mostly not possible in the hot residues of the pressure hydrogenation of carbons, tars and to recover heat contained in mineral oils, as a result of the high content the residues of asphalt and solids often malfunctions or very large exchanger surfaces are necessary because of the poor heat transfer.
It has now been found that the heat of these residues can be easily removed Way can largely be recovered and made usable for the hydrogenation reaction, if you take the hot residues for immediate heating of hydrogen Pressure, especially below the reaction pressure, is used. The hydrogen heated in this way is then used for the pressure hydrogenation itself. Part of the warmth the residues can initially be removed by indirect contact with a medium, in particular a reactant, e.g. B. the hydrogenation gas, expediently in double coils, transferred to this. It is best to touch the residue with the hydrogen in a tube and the mixture of the two in a vessel to conduct, in which the separation of the heated hydrogen from the cooled residue takes place.
To carry out the process, the one to be subjected to the hydrogenation is used Starting material, e.g. B. a coal-oil paste, together with hydrogen under a pressure from i5o to 5ooo at, in particular from 2.50 to i5oo at, to temperatures from 35o to Heated up to 5o0 ° and then in the mostly unheated, insulated against heat loss Reaction vessel passed. The reaction participants arrive after the reaction is complete in the so-called hot separator, which is kept at around the reaction temperature. This is where gases such as hydrogen and gaseous hydrocarbons are separated and vapors from the liquid, consisting of heavy oil, asphalt and solids Backlog instead. This will now be beneficial without relaxing with cold or light heated hydrogen, which is under approximately the same pressure, in contact brought.
It is particularly advantageous if the residue is first in a heat exchanger, advantageously in concentrically arranged tubes, e.g. B. a double coil, is brought into indirect heat exchange with a coolant. You can use water or steam for this purpose. However, it is advantageous to use a reactant, the hydrogenation gas itself being particularly suitable. In this way, some of the heat is extracted from the residue and recovered. Here, for example, the residue is only cooled by 20 to 150 °, expediently 40 to 100 °. It is then brought into direct contact with hydrogen. Expediently, the entire amount for the hydrogenation, e.g. B. the coal, necessary amount of hydrogenation gas used, z. B. 300 to 10000 cbm, usually 500 to 3000 cbm per ton of residue and hour, and heated only through direct contact and then through indirect heat exchange. In order to remove as little oil as possible with the hydrogen from the residue, a short and narrow mixing section of z. B. 200 mm diameter or less. As such, z. B. pipe sections of a few meters in length with the simultaneous use of a Venturi tube or a mixing nozzle have been tried and tested. In order to avoid the occurrence of several pressure stages within the entire hydrogenation process, the reaction pressure is advantageously chosen for carrying out the present process. Under the reaction pressure, the hydrogen is supplied or countered to the residue, which has been brought to a somewhat higher pressure with the aid of a pump, so that no gas can get into the hot separator.
The mixture of residue and hydrogen then becomes appropriate led into an enlarged vessel in which the gas separates from the residue and out the vessel escapes upwards, while the cooled residue on the lower part of the vessel is withdrawn. Here the gas is not given an opportunity - bigger one To carry away amounts of oil from the residue. It is advisable to give for easier discharge add a diluent to the cooled residue from the vessel. As such, can z. B. necessary for the subsequent filtration or centrifugation oil, z. B. medium oil or heavy oil or mixtures of both are used, which are advantageous from the Source material itself.
The residue is only cooled to the extent that it is advantageous for the subsequent further treatment. Since the mechanical separation of the solids from the 01 generally at temperatures of from ioo to 25o °, in particular i5o to 2oo °, is carried out, the mixture is cooled to about these temperatures.
If the residue first comes into contact with a coolant is to be brought to a lower temperature, one uses for this in general of the hydrogen used for immediate cooling. That continued to heat up Hydrogen is then mixed with fresh raw material and placed in a heat exchanger or heated preheater fully brought to reaction temperature.
