Height adjustment of roof and frame components for road surfaces.
The invention relates to a compensation device for the subsequent, stepless height adjustment of components for road surfaces consisting of a base and frame, e.g. manhole covers, road drains and the like, with support bodies arranged under the frame and consisting of ring segments running in a wedge shape in the longitudinal direction.
When building or renewing roads, they are often covered with so-called blacktops, whereby a layer of tar gravel and then a binding layer are applied to the packing layer (base layer), to which the actual wearing layer is only applied after a considerably long time. The entire substructure, including the binding layer, must be secured by driving over it, i.e. compacted, before the wearing layer is applied. This leads to particular problems if manhole covers, road drains, etc. are to be arranged within the road surface. The elements arranged within the road surface must be flush with the road surface and without forming any unevenness, both when driving over the binding layer and after the wearing layer has been applied. The installation elements essentially consist of a cover frame and associated cover with different shapes. Height-adjustable manhole covers and road drains have also become known, which can be adjusted to the different heights of the road surface. An application for the continuous height adjustment of manhole covers and the like*, consisting of a cover and associated cover frame, has become known, in which manhole covers designed in a special way, street
Aufstellflansch und Innenflansch einbaubare, zugeordnet© Verstellmittel aus losen Keilen, insbesondere paarweise gegeneinander verstellbaren Keilen und/oder einem Mörtelbett o.drains and street caps are unnecessary, whereby the insert consists of a frame surrounding the cover frame of the manhole covers, street drains etc. with the installation surface or the installation flange with an inner flange attached at the bottom, which surrounds the installation surface or the installation flange and acts as an abutment for associated adjustment means made of loose wedges, in particular wedges that can be adjusted in pairs against one another and/or a mortar bed or the like, which can be installed between the installation surface or the installation flange and the inner flange.
This known compensation device for stepless height adjustment only applies to standardized components such as manhole covers, road drains and street caps with standardized diameters or dimensions. The functional reliability of the height adjustment is only guaranteed by the fact that an inner flange, which supports the installation surface or the installation flange, serves as a support for the wedges, which can be adjusted in pairs against each other, and thus prevents adjustment under the load of the road. If you work with wedge-shaped support elements, the wedges can move against each other under the stresses of traffic, which can result in a level disturbance.
In one embodiment of a compensating device (DE-PS 1900582), each element consists of two segment parts lying on top of each other, the contact surfaces of which are wedge-shaped in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the segment parts. Here, the danger that the wedges will shift further from their position relative to each other under the stresses of traffic is even greater, since the possibility of shifting is predefined, especially under unfavorable sliding conditions, both in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a compensation device for continuously adjusting the height of a manhole cover, in which the removal of the manhole

deckelrahraens unterbleiben kann und die so ausgebildet ist, daß auch geringe Höhenunterschiede zwischen der Fahrbahndecke und der Sch&iihtdeckelebene, auch bei schräger Fahrbahnneigung, dadurch ausgeglichen werden können, daß jedes Ringelement aus zwei übereinanderliegenden Segmentteilen besteht, deren Berührungsflächen keilförmig nur in Längsrichtung der Segmentteile verlaufen, Maßnahmen vorzusehen, die gewährleisten, daß sich die keilförmig verlaufenden Elemententeile Unter den Beanspruchungen des Verkehrs gegeneinander nicht verschieben können.cover frame can be omitted and which is designed in such a way that even small differences in height between the road surface and the cover level, even with an inclined road surface, can be compensated for by each ring element consisting of two segment parts lying on top of each other, the contact surfaces of which are wedge-shaped and only run in the longitudinal direction of the segment parts, measures to be taken to ensure that the wedge-shaped element parts cannot shift against each other under the stresses of traffic.
This is achieved according to the invention in that for each ring segment, which consists of two segment parts lying one above the other, the contact surfaces of which run in a wedge shape in the longitudinal direction of the segment parts, guide means are arranged in the longitudinal direction in the contacting surfaces.
In a simple form, these guide means can be designed in such a way that a groove is incorporated in one of the segment parts, e.g. the one at the bottom, in which a spring is fitted in the segment part at the top. By moving one segment part relative to the other segment part, a continuous height adjustment is possible, whereby the spring is moved in the groove. The inclination of the ring consisting of the individual segment parts in relation to the inclined road surface can also be adjusted by radially moving the segment parts with the seat on the road surface. The segment parts lie on top of one another in such a way that the end of the segment part with the small height is opposite the end of the other segment part with the large height. Several grooves or springs can also be incorporated in the contact surfaces of the segment parts.
Je nach Wahl der Ausführungsform für die Ausgleichsvorrichtung, ob als Ringform oder ob anstelle eines KreisringesDepending on the choice of design for the compensation device, whether as a ring shape or instead of a circular ring
Die Fedem können in ihrer Längenerstreckung kürzer ausgebildet werden, als die gesamte(n) Länge(n) der Führungsnute(n).of different heights and with different paths of the guide groove and spring guided in it as well as different wedge inclinations in the longitudinal direction. For the usual shaft diameters, the compensation device, which can be built up into a ring of, for example, eight ring elements, is large enough that the individual ring elements can be easily handled. With raised shaft cover frames, there is always enough space left so that the gap is accessible and the segment parts can be inserted from this space. The elements can be inserted between the support surface and the seat surface of the frame and adjusted against each other so that they fill this gap and rest against the seat surface of the frame. The springs can be made shorter in length than the entire length of the guide groove(s).
The tongue and groove guide on the contact surfaces prevents the segment parts from shifting on the contact surfaces as a result of the load from the road, even under unfavourable conditions that encourage sliding. It also ensures that the associated segment parts can be put together in pairs in an unmistakable manner.
In den Zeichnungen ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel dargestellt. Es zeigt:An example of an embodiment is shown in the drawings. It shows:

In the drawings, 1 means the compensation device constructed as a ring of several ring segments 5 and 6 between the manhole cover frame 2 with cover 3 and the original seat surface Λ. Each ring element consists of the segment parts 5 and 6, whose contact surfaces run in a wedge shape in the longitudinal direction. The contact surfaces lie on top of one another in such a way that the smaller height 7 of the segment part 5 is opposite the larger height 8 of the segment part 6. The end faces 9 and 10 run parallel. By moving the segment parts in the contact surface in the longitudinal direction, the height D can be adjusted, even on one side. To prevent the segment parts 5 and 6 from slipping against one another during construction and also when the road surface is finished, guide means in the form of grooves 11 and springs 12 are arranged in the segment parts 5 and 6. The groove 11 can have a trapezoidal, round or V-shaped cross-section, into which a correspondingly designed spring 12 is guided. The contact surfaces are designated 13 and 14. The guide means arranged in these contact surfaces 13 and 14 in the form of spring 12 and groove 11 can be designed in such a way that the springs 12 are shorter in their longitudinal extension than the entire length of the guide groove 11. When the segment parts are moved, cavities 15 are formed between each two pairs of segment parts, which can be filled with mortar or the like.
