The fastening of lamp tubes in sleeves, feet or the like takes place
often either by screwing in the luminaire tube provided with an external thread
in the counterpart with internal thread or by means of screws on the side in the
Wall of the socket or foot through which the pipe is clamped. The production
and keeping the threads clean requires careful work and causes substantial
Costs, especially if the parts are enamelled or painted before assembly.
When using a side screw, a hole must be drilled and threaded
to accommodate the screw. The protruding screw head is multiple
disturbing. The screw must also be secured against loosening. According to the invention
every thread and every screw connection is dispensable. A simple plugging together
the parts are sufficient; to reliably connect them to each other. According to the invention
this is done by the fact that on the tube an outwardly resilient counter to the Einr
guiding direction of the tube extending tongue is punched out during insertion
of the pipe in the foot, the socket or the like. Is pushed back and in the end position
of the tube jumps into the vain groove in which it locks against being pulled out.
In Figs. I and 2, i is a foot and 2 is a lamp tube. The lamp tube
is provided with a punched out tongue 3 which is resilient to the outside. In the lamp stand
there is a groove 4 and a contact surface 5 in the insertion opening.
If the lamp tube is inserted from above, the contact surface
5 the resilient tongue 3 is initially pushed back until it snaps behind a shoulder 6.
The tube is then firmly seated in the foot without any additional fasteners
.required are. In order to be able to solve the connection in case of need, is a
Opening 7 in the wall of the foot or the sleeve at the upper end of the groove 4.
A tool can be inserted through this opening and the tongue can be pushed back.
It is useful to make the opening approximately equal to the width of the tongue. So that a
narrow screwdriver can be used as a tool. The training of the
lower end of the pipe as well as the foot or the socket does not require any manual work,
because the resilient tongue is formed by punching and the groove as well as the contact surface
in the production of the foot or the socket, which is formed by pressing
or can produce syringes. There are numerous compared to the known arrangements
Work steps saved. In addition, the assembly is simplified and cheaper. the
Groove, which only needs to be wide enough for the tongue to comfortably spring into it, prevents
also a turning of the pipe. The run-up area also shows where the pipe is with
The tongue must be inserted so that the tongue is securely in the groove
latched. The bending back of the tongue by the contact surface must only be gradual
so that sudden bending does not affect the suspension.
