erstrecken. The invention relates to a bearing housing which has two housing members
made of sheet metal in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. : the _ shaft held together
are and in which the aforementioned difficulties are avoided in that
these links flanges with. have straight edges that are intended to be on one
Pad to be supported, and stretch over the greater part of the width of the limb

; Fig. 4 ist ein GrundriB von Fig. 3.Two embodiments of the subject of the invention are shown in the drawing
shown; in which Fig. i shows a vertical section through the bearing, wherein
the two halves each represent a special embodiment; Fig. 2 is a
Side view of a housing member according to FIG. I; Fig. 3 is a side view of the
complete bearing housing, the left half of the embodiment of the left
Half of Fig. I and the right half of the right half of Fig. I
; FIG. 4 is a plan view of FIG. 3.
der Gehäusehälften besitzen nach außen aufgebogene Flansche 6.The pillow block bearing according to the left half of FIGS. I, 3 and 4 has two
same housing halves i, each of which has a cylindrical part 2, whose
Inside diameter corresponds to the outside diameter of the ball bearing. The inner part
each housing half is elongated in the axial direction and forms, together with
an inner plate-shaped ring 4, an annular sealing space for receiving
a sealing ring, e.g. B. a felt ring. The adjoining ends
of the housing halves have flanges 6 which are bent up outwards.
genau einrichten. The housing halves are surrounded by a U-shaped clamp 7 at the top and at the sides. The clamp 7 is provided with feet 8 which have holes for screws in order to clamp the housing halves on a base plate 9. In the embodiment shown on the left, the clamp 7 is provided with a slot into which the flanges 6 enter, so that the clamp 7 also serves to hold the housing halves i together. In the right embodiment, the clamp 7 has a pressed-in groove io into which the flanges 6 engage. In this case too, the clamp 7 is used to hold the housing halves together. The pressed-in groove causes a considerable stiffening of the clamp 7 in this embodiment. Since the bearing can be sold cheaply enough when using small roller bearings, it must be made of relatively thin sheet metal. However, there is a great risk that the housing halves and the outer race of the bearing will be deformed from the round shape when the housing is clamped on its base by means of the clamp. In order to reduce the risk of such a deformation, the flanges 6 are extended in the lower part of the housing halves so that they form support corners ii. As a result, the housing is supported on the greater part of its radial extent, since the edge 12 of this flange extension rests on the base lath 9. In the middle part of the support of the flanges 6 they have tongue-like projections 13 which engage in a corresponding slot 14 in the base plate 9 and serve to hold the housing halves together at the point at which they cannot hold the clamp 7 together and which the housing precisely set up as a whole with respect to the bearing plate.
