Device for the photographic measurement of spectral radiation absorption
of liquids
The measurement of the radiation absorption of liquid substances over larger ones
As is well known, spectral ranges in the photographic way are usually achieved by
that two spectra are recorded at the same time, namely the spectrum on the one hand
of light. that the liquid to be measured passes through different layer heights,
and on the other hand the spectrum of the light, which in each case has the same layer height of the
Solvent has permeated. 1) The light of the second spectrum is always
by a weakening device, usually a sector blellele, to a certain one

Precondition for the implementation of this procedure is the exact
Maintaining the correct layer height. For a complete series of recordings, the
generally 20 to 30 different layer heights are required. For the setting
Different methods are customary for the respective layer heights. There are institutions
become known, in which the layer height by micrometric adjustment of a
Dipstick is brought about against a fixed dip cup.
This process is particularly effective with smaller layer heights
often does not have the necessary accuracy and is also easy to give rise to errors. Äfan
has therefore proposed a special cylindrical tube for each layer height
to be used with small, abraded end faces and suitable aluminum end windows.
With this method, the correct layer height is well guaranteed and a
Confusion is very unlikely, but the process is extremely cumbersome
and time-wasting bells. According to the invention you can avoid these disadvantages if you
couples the plunger cylinder with a stylus that opens in the dipping direction
supports a stair-shaped stop body, so that each step
corresponds to a certain layer height. This way there is a risk of confusion
locked out. The adjustment is done with constant accuracy, and
the change of the layer bones is done by simply switching the stop body.
This can be implemented in various ways, for example
as a stop perpendicular to the direction of diving with the required
Number of steps or as a rotatable disc with corresponding steps. Such
Arrangement also offers the possibility of the whole process of a series recording
to run automatically by switching the stopper body
by a mechanical drive (electric motor, clockwork or the like.) Performs the
in addition, the otherwise necessary circuits and movements on the spectrograph,
like the operation of the photographic shutter, the shifting of the photographic one
Plate, etc., performs automatically. This becomes the one required for a series of pictures
Time reduced to a fraction of what was previously required.

Spektrographen vornimmt. The invention is shown in the drawing by a schematic sketch
