Device for the detachable attachment of a filter to the intake manifold
an internal combustion engine The invention relates to a device for removable
Attaching a filter to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine.
It is known to filter by clamps, screw connections, bayonet locks
and the like to be attached to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine.
It has also been suggested to put a filter loosely on the intake manifold
of an engine and it by a special holder on the engine block
to support unwanted intake manifold vibrations, broken filters, broken carburetors
and the like to avoid.
The invention aims at a further simplification and cheaper
the filter attachment to the engine and achieves this essentially in that the
Fastening means for holding the filter on the engine at the same time .the clamping means
to hold the parts of the collapsible filter together. The fastening and
Clamping means preferably consist of one to be rigidly attached to the engine block
Part and a moving part. The rigid part also serves as the lower abutment
the movable clamping device parts and as a support for the lower part of the filter.
The movable clamping devices, on the other hand, are supported on the upper part of the filter and clamped
when tightening this upper part firmly on the lower part and thereby on the rigid
Part of the 'fasteners. Included
one can see the movable clamping device parts
either hang flexibly on the supports or fasten in another suitable way
and let it attack the upper part of the filter housing when tensioning or vice versa.
The ends of the supports that act on the filter housing are advantageously given a
slightly smaller distance from each other than the width of the housing part to be encompassed
corresponds so that they can spring apart a little when the housing is put on
and thereby give the housing a good hold.
The invention is described below with reference to one in the drawing
illustrated embodiment described, with further characterizing
Features will result. Figures i, 2 and 3 show one vertical step, one
Side view and a top view of one through two side supports on the engine block
attached and arranged on the engine intake manifold filter, Fig. 4 and 5 one each

Vergasers einer Brennkraftmaschine aufgesteckt ist.i is the upper housing part and 2 the lower housing part of a filter,
its lower nozzle loosely on the suction end 3 of the air supply pipe or the
Carburetor of an internal combustion engine is attached.
In geschlossenem Zustand gemäß
Fig. 5 und i zieht der Hakenteil9 den Oberteil i nach unten auf den Rand des Unterteils
i fest gegen den Gehäuseutrterteil2 ziehen.
In
i strichpunktiert angedeutete Richtung n5 einstellen.
The lower housing part e rests on the upper ends of supports 4 with an annular groove 13 that is open at the bottom. The lower. Ends of the supports 4 are on the engine block 5, for. B. by screws attached. The outer edge of the lower housing part 2 is overlapped by the outer edge 6 of the upper filter part i, in which an annular filter insert 7 is attached. An annular groove 8 is provided above the filter insert 7, into which a movable hook part 9 engages. The hook part 9 is rotatably mounted in a handle io according to FIGS. 4 and 5 and together with this forms a toggle lock, as it is e.g. B. is commonly known as a beer bottle cap. The handles io can be pivoted in pivot pins ii of the supports 4. In the closed state according to FIGS. 5 and i, the hook part 9 pulls the upper part i downwards onto the edge of the lower part 2 and tightly onto the upper edges of the supports 4. It is thus achieved that the fastening means 4, 9, io, which engage the filter element and clamp it firmly to the engine block, are also the clamping means which pull the upper housing part i firmly against the neutral housing part 2. While you would otherwise need special fasteners for the mutual bracing of the upper and lower parts of the housing, these are saved here by using. for this purpose those means are used which are anyway necessary to attach the filter to the engine. 1's are .dies the two supports bent in a simple manner from sheet metal as rigid and the toggle lever lock 9, io as movable fastening elements. In principle, nothing would change in the effect if the parts 9, io were to be arranged on the upper housing part i. Then the hook 9 would have to attack a corresponding edge of the support 4. In this case it is even possible, depending on the type of installation, to have the hook which is normally present on the upper part for bracing with the lower part optionally engage on a counter-hook of the lower part or the support 4. The execution of the counter hook. than grooves running around the entire edge of upper part i and lower part 2. 13, 8 has the advantage that the two housing parts 1, 2 can be rotated against each other as desired. So you are not tied to a certain angular position when installing. The supports can also be made relatively rigid and stable from thin sheet metal if they are ribbed, as can be seen in particular from FIG. As a rule, however, a somewhat elastic construction is to be preferred to the completely rigid form, in which the supports 4 adjust themselves without an inserted filter in the direction n5 indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. When the filter is inserted, the supports 4 give out resiliently and, when installed, ensure a good, vibration-free hold. The separable filter itself can be constructed in any way. In the illustrated embodiment, the air is sucked through lateral openings 16 into the lower filter part 2, from there it penetrates the annular filter insert 7 from bottom to top and finally flows through the central pipe section 17 to the carburetor or to the intake pipe 3 of the engine. This type of filter works at the same time. as a noise suppressor.
