Process for the production of strongly adsorbing and slightly acid-binding
Masses containing metal compounds It is known that aluminum hydroxide, NI
Magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate and similar moths have a strong adsorptive capacity

Such masses have already been used for cosmetic and pharmaceutical purposes.
In particular, these stolts are used as a means of treating hyperuncle; of
'Stomach known. However, it is precisely for this purpose that it is necessary to use products
which can be treated exceptionally easily with hydrochloric acid, which is inherently small, such as
they are present in the gastric juice even in the case of acidification. This requirement
However, the products on the market are usually not sufficient or they lead
acidification of the stomach and cause unpleasant side effects.
It has now been found that particularly well-tolerated and long-acting products can be obtained
obtained when using solutions of physiologically compatible metal compounds
Converts alkali cellulose. As physiologically compatible metal compounds come
especially those of aluminum, magnesium and calcium or their mixtures are considered,
such as aluminum sulfate, magnesium acetate, magnesium chloride, calciumch, loride, calcium acetate,
or calcium formate.
in
In many cases it is particularly advantageous to use the alkali cellulose
beforehand by treatment with carbonic acid or by storing in the air in abundance
To carbonize access to air. For the production of an acid-binding and also adsorbing
acting class is generally done in such a way that the saline solution in question

The resulting precipitate of metal hydroxide or metal carbonate is combined with the alkali cellulose

is washed out and dried well. One can, of course, also. The precipitation
Separate by any filtration, centrifugation process or the like.
The proportions of alkali cellulose and metal salt can be in
vary widely. The precipitation conditions can also be changed as far as possible
vary. Especially when hiring, i. H. in the case of precipitation, down to the neutral point
(PH-7), products that settle well and can be filtered quickly are obtained. example
25 parts of technical crystallized aluminum sulfate are hot in about 35 parts
Water dissolved with stirring. Allow to settle until the liquid is completely clear,
pulls off the clear liquid and first mixes it with 250 parts of water.
Then 50 parts of carbonized alkali cellulose are introduced at room temperature. Here
Use an indicator paper to check whether the solution has already become neutral.
As soon as the neutral point is reached, one hears with the addition of alkali cellulese

a lot of water, let it settle, siphon off, stir the paste again with water
and finally sucks dry on a filter. The dry dough mass can optionally
with other additives (coloring, sugar, sweetener or other physiological
active substances).
It is already known (see Franz Itting in British Patent 361 233) to mix aluminum sulfate with crushed cellulose for the production of wound pastes. However, no alkali cellulose was used for this and neither did they want to produce any easily acid-binding compounds. It is even expressly pointed out that the products are difficult to dissolve. A conversion of the aluminum sulfate to aluminum hydroxide is neither sought nor achieved. The valuable properties of aluminum hydroxide cannot appear here. This product therefore differs fundamentally from the one obtainable using the present process.
In einer anderen Schrifttumsstelle (Karl G. Schwalbe in Zeitschr.
f. angew.
.In another literature (Karl G. Schwalbe in Zeitschr.
f. applied chemistry 37, 125-126) is the adsorption of aluminum sulfate on cotton cellulose
and wood pulp with extensive cutting of the fibers described in the Hollander,
a partial conversion of the aluminum sulfate to aluminum hydroxide taking place

complete conversion to aluminum hydroxide is achieved. Not to mention that

Farbstoff Kongorot bevorzugt aufnehmen.
The after also offer compared to the pure hydroxides or carbonates
products available in the present process. These fall

z. B. the dyes Mebhylene Blue and Congo Red both differ well from aluminum hydroxide

its nature either the basic dye methylene blue or the acidic dye
Take up Congo red dye preferentially. The great effectiveness of metal hydroxides
and carbonates are particularly good due to their extremely easy solubility

These relationships do not change when the products are stored for a longer period of time.
