Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Schälmaschine für Kartoffeln, Obst u. dgl. mit einem im Kreisbogen bewegten Schälmesserhalter und einer waagerechten Fruchthalterspindel. Bei den bisher bekannten Bauformen dieser Maschinen liegt die Fruchthalterspindel senkrecht über dem Arm, der das Lager und den Bewegungsarm sowie den Schälmesserhalter trägt. Hierbei ist der frei bleibende Raum zwischen der Schälstelle und der Tischplatte sehr beschränkt, so daß man beim Anfallen eitler großen Menge voll Schalen die untergestellte Schussel mehrfach entleeren muß.
