Die so entstehenden Komposthaufen mit verwesenden pflanzlichen und tierischen Stoffen sind, besonders bei enger Bebauung, wegen der Geruchsentwicklung für die Nachbarschaf t lästig; auch begünstigen die offenen Komposthaufen, zumal bei naher Lage an Schuppen, lagerndem Holz o. dgl., die Rattenvermehrung.
