Description
Process for the preparation of new disazo dyes The present Invention relates to the preparation of new disazo dyes, and in particular to those capable of forming copper complex compounds.
In the process according to the invention, the new ones are made Disazo dyes in such a way that a '\ 1o1 of a tetrazotized 4-amino-3-carboxy-i- (4 -methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl) -aminobenzene with a total of 2 moles of the same or different i-Aryl-5-pyrazolone is coupled which have no diazotizable amino groups and no Oxy and carboxylic acid groups are contained in the ortho position to one another in the aryl nuclei and which are selected to have at least one solubilizing group, e.g. B. sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid groups, and the resulting disazo dye contains a total of at least two and no more than three solubilizing groups.
According to a modification of this process, the manufacture of these Disazo dyes are also made so that an i-aryl-5-pyrazolone with a diazotized 3 - Carboxy- i - (4-methoxy - 3'aminobenzoyl) -aminobenzene is coupled, which contains a group of the formula - N = N - P as a substituent in the 4-position, wherein P is the residue of an i-aryl-5-pyrazolone and wherein the i-aryl-5-pyrazolones no diazotizable amino groups and no oxy or carboxylic acid groups in the ortho position contained to each other in the aryl nuclei and the i-aryl-5-pyrazolones so selected are that they contain .at least one solubilizing group, the resulting Disazo dye at least two and not more than three solubilizing groups, z. B. sulfonic acid and carboxylic acid groups, in addition to the carboxylic acid group, the contained in the tetra component contains: These new disazo dyes can treated with copper donating compounds so that at least two atoms Copper can be introduced into the molecule of the disazo dye.
The new disazo dyes produce copper complex compounds, Which Cotton and regenerated cellulose fibers generally in orange Dye shades that have excellent lightfastness and good washfastness. The lightfastness of the colorations on fibers made from regenerated cellulose, for example spun viscose, is not changed or changed only little when the material a treatment for crease resistance with the aid of synthetic resins, for example Formaldehyde - urea - synthetic resin, is subjected.
Als Beispiele von i-Aryl-5-pyrazolonen, die gemäß der Erfindung angewandt werden können, seien genannt i-(4'-Sulfophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon, i-(3'-Sulfophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon, i Phenyl-5-pyrazolon-3-carbonsäure, i-(3'-Carboxylphenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon, 1-(4 -Sulfophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon, i-(4 -Methoxy-2'-sulfophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon, i-(4-Methoxy-2'-sulfophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolon und'. i-(4-Methylphenyl) - 5 -pyrazolon- 3 -carbonsäure. As examples of i-aryl-5-pyrazolones used according to the invention can be mentioned i- (4'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, i- (3'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, i phenyl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid, i- (3'-carboxylphenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, 1- (4 -sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, i- (4-methoxy-2'-sulfophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, i- (4-methoxy-2'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone and '. i- (4-methylphenyl) -5 -pyrazolone- 3 -carboxylic acid. 4-Amino-3-carboxy-i - (4 = methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl) -aminobenzene a new compound with a melting point of 242 °. It is obtained through repositioning of 6-nitro-3-aminobenzene-i-carboxylic acid with 3-nitro-4-methoxybenzene chloride, where 4- Nitro-3-carboxy-i- (4 = methoxy-3'-nitrobenzoyl) -aminobenzene is formed (melting point 266 to 267 °), whereupon this compound in an aqueous medium with the help of iron and Ferrous sulfate is reduced to diamine.
The 3-carboxy-i- (4 = methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl) -aminobenzenes can be used as Substituents in the 4-position contain a group of the formula - N = N - P, and these can be obtained in the manner previously described by coupling diazotized 5-nitro or acylamine ino-2-aminobenzene-i-carboxylic acid with a suitable i-Aryl-5-pyrazolone, reducing the nitro group or saponifying the acylamino group, Reacting the aminomonoazo compound formed with 3-nitro-4-methoxybenzoyl chloride and reducing the nitro group to the corresponding amino group.
Some embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the following examples. The parts are parts by weight. Example i 30.1 parts of 4-amino-3-carboxy-i- (4 methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl) aminobenzene are dissolved in a mixture of 100 parts of water and 50 parts of 36% hydrochloric acid. The solution is stirred and cooled to 0 to 5 ° and 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite are added as a 2N solution. When the tetrazotization has ended, the cooled solution of the tetrazo compound is slowly added to a solution of 5 to 10 °, which has been prepared by dissolving 5o.8 parts of 1- (4-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone in iSoo Parts of water and 8 parts of sodium hydroxide, 72 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate being added. The mixture is stirred until the coupling has ended, the temperature of the coupling mixture being allowed to rise to 15 to 20 °. When the coupling is complete, the suspension of the disazo dye, which is in gelatinous form, is heated to 90 °, as a result of which coagulation takes place. The disazo dye is then filtered off and washed with a 2.5% aqueous sodium chloride solution. The paste of the disazo compound is then mixed with 4000 parts of water and heated to 80 °. Then a solution of 55 parts of copper sulfate crystals in zoo parts of water and 75 parts of 35% ammonia is added and the mixture is heated to 90 to 95 ° for 12 to 15 hours. The mixture is then cooled to 80 °. 425 parts of sodium chloride are added and the precipitated copper-containing dye is filtered off and washed with 100% aqueous sodium chloride solution. The copper-containing dye can be purified by redissolving it in 40oo parts of 80 ° water, salting it out again with 320 parts of sodium chloride, filtering and washing it. The washed paste is dried at 60 to 70 °.
Beispiel 3 30,1 Teile 4-Amino-3-carboxy-i-(4-methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl)-aminobenzol werden in der in Beispiel i angegebenen Weise tetrazotiert. The new copper-containing disazo dye forms a reddish-brown powder, which dissolves in warm water and gives an orange-colored solution and, when dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, gives a yellow solution. This dye dyes cotton from a neutral or weakly alkaline dyebath containing Glauber's salt in yellowish-orange shades, the dyeings having excellent lightfastness. When the dye is used for dyeing spun viscose, it is dyed in yellowish-orange tones with excellent lightfastness, and this lightfastness is only very little reduced when the dyed material is subjected to anti-wrinkle treatment with a synthetic resin such as formaldehyde urea. Example e Following the procedure of Example i, the i- (4 -sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone is replaced by an equal amount by weight of 1- (3'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. The new copper-containing dye obtained in this way is a reddish-brown powder which dissolves in water and gives an orange-colored solution; Dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, it gives a yellow solution. This dye dyes cotton in yellowish-orange shades and the dyeings have properties similar to those produced with the dye according to Example i. Example 3 30.1 parts of 4-amino-3-carboxy-i- (4-methoxy-3'-aminobenzoyl) aminobenzene are tetrazotized in the manner indicated in Example i. To the tetrazole solution, 13.6 parts of sodium acetate crystals are added as a 2oo% aqueous solution to bind the free mineral acid, and then 14 parts of sodium acetate crystals are further added. The resulting solution is added to a neutral solution of the sodium salt of 21.8 parts of i- (3'-carboxyphenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone in 40o parts of water at a temperature of 5 to 7 ° over the course of 1s minutes while stirring . Stirring is continued for a further 30 minutes and then a further 16 parts of sodium acetate crystals are added and finally a neutral solution of the disodium salt of 28.5 parts of i - (4-sulfophenyl) -5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid in 40o parts of water. After stirring for an additional 30 minutes, a solution of 40 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate in 20 ° parts of water is slowly added and the mixture is stirred for an additional 30 minutes until the coupling is complete. The mixture is then heated to 80 ° and 45o parts of sodium chloride are added. The precipitated disazo dye is filtered off, washed with isocyanate sodium chloride solution and coppered in the manner described in Example i. The coppered disazo dye is made by adding. Sodium chloride (250g / 1) isolated, cooled to 2obis25o, acidified with 2N hydrochloric acid against Congo red paper and filtered off. The dye paste is then washed with saturated sodium chloride solution and stirred into 2,000 parts of 100% sodium chloride solution. The suspension is made alkaline to litmus by adding sodium carbonate, heated to 75 °, filtered and the dye paste is dried. This new dye dyes cotton from a neutral or weakly alkaline dye bath containing Glauber's salt in reddish orange-brown shades, and the dyeings have very good lightfastness. Example 4 Following the procedure of Example 3, the 21.8 parts of i- (3'-carboxyphenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone are replaced by 25.4 parts of i- (4 -sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5- Pyrazolone and the 28.5 parts of i- (4-sulfophenyl) -5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid are replaced by the same amount by weight of i- (4-methoxy-2'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. The coppered dye produced in this way dyes cotton in yellowish-orange shades, and the dyeings have very good lightfastness. Example In the procedure described in Example 4, the order of the coupling with respect to the coupling components is reversed. The copper-containing dye obtained in this way gives slightly more reddish tones, and the liquor depletion when dyeing cotton is somewhat less than with the copper-containing dye according to Example 4, but otherwise it has very similar properties. These differences between the dyes of Example 4 and those prepared according to the present example are due to the asymmetrical arrangement of the starting diamine, with the result that one diazo group couples it more easily than the other. Depending on the sequence in which two given diazo components are coupled with the tetrazo component one after the other, different types of disazo dyes are formed.
